Not yet. I have been leaning towards getting the Cambridge sets so i can work on drills. Maybe take 2-3 days off from doing PTs and do drills from Cambridge LR sets?

Blind Review Score

Hi guys,

Just wanted your take on this. For the past three tests now i have seen my blind review score go up. 158-165, but my actual score is not increasing as much and there is still a 10 point gap. What would you recommend to fix the problem, if there is one? Let me know your thoughts.

Writing the Feb exam

done 9 PTs

This is just my opinion.

I think the two week break helped you not to burn out. If you were scoring 174 before then scored 178, there is no definitive answer as the margins are so close in those ranges, think maybe 3 or 4 questions. That could be made up by the test playing to your strengths, luck etc.

If I were you I wouldn't just completely shut off, but instead maybe do one more PT under timed conditions if you feel up for it ( just make sure that you don't let your confidence go down if you get a lower score) and then BR the crap out of it.

On the other days i would keep it light as in do untimed sections just a light "fun" practice so your brain can stay warmed up till Saturday. I personally am doing this as well and so far I am really enjoying it since I know i have capacity to do this exam, its just making sure you are all stretched out and warmed up for game day :)

Cheers

@ You're definitely not alone in that department. I normally have been scoring 0 to -1 in my logic games for a while but in the 70s have come across a couple of games that have thrown me off. Definitely when you see it the second time you realize that the setup was so easy. Here's what i did: PT 72 game 4 i came in to the game with 12.5 min on hand and was thinking I'm gonna own this. When i read the setup i got totally confused. Panic and chaos came in and then for the next 5 min i was banging my head. I took a deep breath and started to read every line very carefully to see what the setup was gonna be and from there i was able to go ahead and finish the game in time. The only mistake i made that I caught on BR was the M can only goto J inference. I initially didn't do it but then the questions made you realize that inference.

Just remember:

1) Lsac is trying to be clever with wording to distract you so you panic and then freeze. If you have done all the games this course teaches, there is almost no game that can surprise us.

2) If you have trouble seeing whats important in the game, look at the questions and see what they are focusing on and that could help with your setup as well.

Hope this helps.

@.cox Actual: 173. Br: 178. The reading comp was truly a pain, I'm gonna be harsh with myself and suggest that its more luck i got some of the Rc questions right. When I Br'd the RC section, the 3,4th passage still didn't seem that clear to me although i did make more effort to just get the main points of the passage and mark certain areas of the passages i felt relevant.

For the LR: mainly stupid mistakes which i hope will go away by the coming saturday :)

LG: Didn't find any difficulty in it, a breeze. (LG is my strongest skill)

@.cox I'm in the same boat as you. Just got done for 71 and thought it was more challenging than the others, especially the mirror passage. I still have to BR it so I'm curious to see what type of mistakes were made.

BR Score

I know this probably has been answered but i just wanted to understand again what the BR score conveys. Is it just time and press that is killing me? . Just did my second timed test and got a BR 162. I am aiming to get a 170+.

Thanks for all the feed back.

LG:0 to -2

RC -6 to -9

After

LR: -9

LG: -4 to -5

RC: -12

I have only done 2 practice after my break so i know its early but i just wanted your opinion as well.

Panic?

HI All,

I've been studying since for almost a year now for the december lsat. Completed the trainer and 7sage course thoroughly. Around august i started feeling a little worn out so took a break for 3 weeks. Now I am back and cranking on those Practice tests. My reason for concern is that just before i left my prep i was scoring 164-168 and 170-172 BR, however, now i started of with 154 actual and 160 BR. Should i be worried?

Plan of attack

Hey Guys,

So i just finished ten Pts. I have some data with me to see where I'm making mistakes. Just wanted to know what is the most efficient way of drilling on the weak parts ( Amount of questions, difficulty level etc). Appreciate any advice as I'm about to start practicing again soon.

Cheers,

Nat

First of all don't worry your not losing all the hard work you put in. This can happen at times for a number of reasons ( Need a small break, stress etc). I am scoring in the 160s as well and then boom i hit a 147. For me it was mainly just slight fatigue and frustration that caused the result as when I was doing my BR i was more calm and cool ( did it the next day). In my BR I scored a 170 so I knew it was just a combination of things that got me. I took a 2-3 days off and just relaxed and got back into studying and everything was fine afterwards.

Timing/ pacing: I would recommend for timing and pacing you either get the Cambridge drills (if you are ok paying for it) or just go back to the drills sections from the lessons and just do drills and see the pattern in each question. Same goes for RC and LG. Just keep reviewing the methods 7sage put in on how to get better at each section and you will definitely see improvements. Personally, I just started using the Cambridge drills and love them as they organize everything from easiest to hardest. That way you can kinda see the pattern in each an everything the Lsat does.

Sorry for blabbering on but hope this helps :)

good luck.

Retaking Lsat

Hi Team,

Just wanted to run this new study plan with you all and see what your take is. I took the exam in Feb and got a 164. I want to aim for the 173+ range so going for it hard again.

Plan:

Restudy all 7sage material and put more of an ephasis on basic concepts i.e logic lessons etc

Cambridge Drills

Manhattan Material ( if needed)

20-25 PTs

BR the heck out of every question till I can explain it to a 2 yr old :P

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

2 questions

1) Done 4 PT's with BR and the scores are fluctuating between 148 and 160. At what point did you guys start seeing consistency in your PTs?

2) Do you think its worth getting the Cambridge LR drills from old Lsat's (1-35)?

Thanks everyone!

Im giving the December exam and currently doing one day on and one day off. I've done the course twice so now I'm just going throw PTs. After doing 10 total I'll focus on individual areas that need drilling then back to another 10 PTs.

Just adding to this: How long ( amount of questions) should one drill a specific section for? Just wanted others thoughts on this. Cheers

BR Strategy

Just quick question. Would it be ok to split the BR into 2 days? Routine would be, 1) do lsat test 2) go back to circled questions and see if i wanna change my answer + get 100 certainty on then 3) score 4) questions i get wrong review and drill them in the head the next day. Let me know what you guys think.

How many PT's i to be done?

Was just wondering what some of you thought is an optimum amount of PT's to do in a week or maybe even a day? I just started and feel like I can learn more If I don't take breaks right now. What do you guys think?

Just another analogy to throw at you. When you first started typing on the keyboard, everyone one was slow and made errors. With practice and SLOWLY learning the pattern of the keyboard, many are able to type on a std keyboard without looking and without making any errors + they type ridiculously fast.

Hope that helps.

Best Method to Learn from Drills

Hi Guys,

Just got the Cambridge set for LR and RC. How would you recommend I drill those in the most time efficient manner. Should I do every single question?

Currently, Im just going through every single question but doing 1500+ questions for LR purposes might take too long.

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks for all the help

I have the same issue. Just keep doing some drills from the older PTs and try to get to the answers in a faster way. You know one way to get to the right answer, trick is to find the fastest way to the right answer. Drills will help cause it will show you the pattern for majority of the question types.

Parallel Flaw questions

Hi There,

Just wanted some on advice on these questions. I'm still having a little difficulty with these questions but am slowly getting better. Im able to see the flaw in the paragraph but have a hard time matching it to another statement. Is this something you just get better at with time?

If thats what she meant, i agree with her. Talking to others could lead you to lose your focus. Best thing to do is just keep your head down and do your thing. Last time I gave the exam i was unprepared and was looking for people to talk to. This time I'm gonna crush the exam and I want full focus in the zone :)

Feb will be acceptable but spots might be filled up and it can get tricky. If you can take it in December do it. I'm in the same boat as you and working towards giving the lsat in December so I'm competitive in the admission cycle.

Good luck.

@-1 excellent point. That's what I was just noticing. Familiarity with the questions should help with recognizing the main pattern for each difficulty level. Hope this works. Thanks for posting

Thanks guys. I just got the packets and gonna start drilling from easy to hardest. Going to be strict with timing in myself just to I can get faster. Any specific advice for drilling techniques?

Are you sure?
