Hey just wondering if I should complain about my proctor interrupting me. I really can't tell how much it threw me off. I feel like my concentration wasn't there, but I did finish on time. I don't know if I want to cancel... not sure what to do.

argh. I did ok, but worse than I expected
You can use 5 sheets of 2-sided paper
Hi- did you get any responses to this question? I know it's 2 years ago- maybe you're not even checking this discussion anymore, LOL

Fool Proofing the core curriculum games was key to me getting to -0LG. 100% recommend.
Would you mind sharing what is Fool Proofing, please?
Yay! Enjoy! It’s been a month and I’m trying the “boards” now. Still loving doing my LSAT study schedule, with links, repeating assignments…etc
Absolutely helpful- thank you!!
This is great Matthew. Please add me to this too.
On the last 7 Sage podcast, the guest speaker made a really great point about calming your anxiety by switching your focus to “did I follow my steps? “and away from “am I getting this right? “
Love this!!!
Ooof. That’s a doozy. The teacher does describe the statement as having been made and recorded by the reporter. But the student is like- “ well it would be the same if the reporter just made it up“
Hi! I'm a career-changer too. I found books to be the cheapest way to just get started. You can see your strengths and weaknesses. I liked "Loophole" by Cassidy, the Manhattan Prep RC book, and the PowerScore Logic Games bible for LG. Watch some free videos on Youtube, work on some Khan Academy, and see where you need to go! I've been very happy with 7sage Practice test analytics. You'll need an LSAC account and you'll need to pay the $99 for access to their tests since practice is important. Good luck!
I had a similar issue. I am considering complaining officially, but I'm afraid of how late they'll delay my score...

My proctor took over my mouse with roughly 45 seconds left on my LG section to click on the the chat box. I fought them doing this because I was scrambling to finish my last 3 questions until they eventually opened it. By the time I read the message and swapped back I was out of time and couldn't at least get a few shots-in the-dark-down. Kind of threw me off for the rest of the test, too. I don't feel too good about it.
Basically, I was reading the questions to myself out loud because I retain information better this way and the proctor was trying to tell me to stop talking. I didn't see this behavior explicitly prohibited in the candidate agreement. Everything in there is regarding discussion or disclosure of test information. My interpretation of "discussion" or "disclosure" would lead me to believe that there would have to be another party involved or that I was somehow showing others the test's contents. Given the nature of the at-home format, the fact that my dog was the only other creature around and my proctor knew my phone was away and what programs I had open, it would seem to be a sort of gray area.
Posting this to see if anyone thinks I should file a complaint. I've been tossing around potentially doing it, but can't tell if I'm being over-emotional or I have a legitimate gripe here.
I should also say that I understand that per the candidate agreement I am to follow proctor instructions. I definitely did and refrained from speaking aloud for the rest my test. Also, the proctor in question was different from the person I had originally started the test with. They also disconnected after my logic games section so I did not have an opportunity to ask them why they chose to go about telling me in that manner. Especially given the consideration that I had been reading to myself verbally for the entire section up until that point.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I thought comprehensive context would be important. I appreciate your replies!
Just sharing that if you use Todoist, you can use their safari extension while on CC lessons
why not get just a one-off with a tutor to jump start thinking about any one section in a new way? that will probably answer your question as to whether to start regularly work with one
great webinar, thank you!
thank you Tajira!
Keeping a wrong answer journal is one of the best tips out there that a lot of people share. The thing is- after you do a practice section- collect a few of the easier ones you got wrong, not ALL of them. It's too overwhelming. Watch J-Y explain five LR questions that you got wrong before #20, for example. Then write in a document- summarize the stimulus and what made the right answer right, etc... for each one. Sometimes the brain is busy learning, flexing, re-shaping and in that time period cannot "perform" on the questions. But it's working on it! Best of luck to you!
I get extra RC practice in by reading articles that are a bit longer than typical LSAT RC passages and that also feature current events (makes it easier for me to be an engaged reader). Here's a good one in a recent WSJ regarding Maya Lin's light-drenched revamp of the library at Smith College. Happy reading! (Hopefully the link works) Don't forget to low-res on the way! https://emailshare.cmail19.com/t/n/d-l-44ffaf57962d11eba555e043580a8292-l-d-r-l/
Hi- I sent you my email, but if I didn't make the cut off (if you limited the number) please let me know. Maybe others are in the same boat and we could form a sub group. I'm happy to host on zoom.
Would like to join as well. We have stats in common
thanks everyone! and yes- I would warn the proctor about this!
Do you "shut down", or otherwise find yourself unable to think straight as soon as that timer starts counting down? If you are game, please try my test anxiety tip: full-on smiling during your toughest sections. I mean a wide grin, not a slight-curve-to-satisfy-the-school-photographer kind of small smile. Will you try it and report back in the poll and/or comments?
interested too
if you low-res summarize, you will slow down at first, but then with practice you'll get a lot correct. I read a news article each day, pausing to summarize each paragraph, to make sure I get extra RC practice in.
Hi- I'm a non-trad with work experience, parenting-related work break, etc... I am only interested in two local schools for their weekend program (I'm in NJ) because of family duties. So I definitely need the unlimited edit PS help; I'm wondering if I'll get advice regarding other questions I have, like the content of my resume, whether I should delay applying until the next cycle, whether my background would be suitable for a diversity statement... those kinds of things.

I just finished, but during my exam my proctor forgot to do the room scan after the break. So they made me do it during the exam, I lost about 4-5 minutes just because of the confusion of it all. So I had to rush through the entire section and would have had 5 minutes to spare which we all know is crucial.
This happened to me in March. I ignored the bubble popping up from the chat, but it still cost me about six points. I did not complain at the time.(needed a score) I took the test again on Friday, and this time reminded the proctor that he had to make me do the 360 test after the break. It cost me one minute but it was better than a pop-up bubble popping for the entire section. Ugh.
If you don’t need a score right now, I would complain. Good luck.
yes please
