@ Hi there! I'm currently at MSU but I'm from Jackson as well! Pretty cool to meet another Mississippian!

Thanks for sharing the information :)! I knew I'd get into Ole Miss, so that wasn't too much of a concern. My eyes are really on 'Bama and Georgia State. With intellectual property being my primary interest, I'm particularly interested in my chances with Georgia State since they seem to have a stellar program for IP students. Anyone happen to have the low-down on them??

@ Not sure how to tag but I'm going to try! Thanks for your response!

I was pretty surprised with my practice test abilities and equally as horrified by my actual test day results. My diagnostic was 168 and, amongst the other three tests I took, I scored 165, 173, and 172. I'd like to believe that I can replicate these performances on test day since I tried to take all of my PTs in as real of a situation as I could create (timed, in a classroom, etc etc.)

I'm glad to hear I would have a shot at my schools even where I am! That's really relieving and I appreciate all the kind words and encouragement! Let's hope that December treats me a little more kindly!

Looking for some advice on my chances!

Hi there! Long-time lurker finally posting on the forums for the first time. For what it's worth, I really enjoy the community and how helpful all of you seem to be! So, you're awesome and keep doing you!

I took the LSAT for the first time in September after using 7sage for about 6 months or so. I scored a 157 which is below my diagnostic significantly (168). Games really sunk my ship which didn't surprise me since, when I sat for the test, the games section seemed unusually difficult compared to what I was used to from this course. I'm sure if I prepared longer, I would've performed much better. This course really has been a godsend, though.

At any rate, my target schools are Georgia State, Alabama, University of Mississippi, (I'm from MS, am in college here, and have the connections that would make that a workable option) and UGA. I'm a senior studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and I have a 3.72 GPA with work experience in a legal setting as well as a few research laboratories (my field of interest is IP if that's worth anything). I have an enormous amount of faith in my résumé and my letters of recommendation which come from professors, bosses, and mixtures of the two. So, my question is, realistically, what are my chances at these aforementioned schools? I'm currently planning on prepping and sitting again in December, but if this is somehow (ugh) the zenith of my LSAT ability (for this cycle, which I'm adamant about) could I get in? Georgia State and Alabama would be my top 2, the others are all roughly equal in my eyes with a lean towards UofMS simply because of my network.

Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you may offer! I assure you I'm open to anything you have to say!

As someone who got this question correct, I'd like to offer what I believe is some relatively sound advice that this specific question taught me:

The 2 most popular answer choices are C and D with D (the correct answer) far outweighing C.

Essentially, both C and D suggest a reason that SEEMS unwarranted by the stimulus for why the boxes would be unsuccessful for these wood ducks. C says that there's less space in the boxes than in natural nests. Sizes aren't discussed in the passage at all. D suggests that these boxes aren't as well hidden as the nests and, being perfectly honest (from a non-sage point of view), the stimulus doesn't really seem to give us that answer as well.

So, as I was differing between these 2, I immediately sided with the one that had at least SOME similarity to something seen in the passage which was D which mentions how hidden the boxes are since the passage mentions how hidden the natural nests are.

Furthermore, it may help to remember that, when scoping out the answers in MSS questions, you're not necessarily looking for a FACT. You could and often will be looking for some general statement or assumption that is most strongly supported. That doesn't make it TRUE. Ex: It's not necessarily true that the boxes are not hidden as well. That's just the best assumption we can make in the given context.

@ Good choice! haha. It's only for a few months anyways. I might actually have to learn to talk to people while waiting in line, or, worse, make eye contact! ahhhhhh

Lol! I really didn't fear shutting down social media for boredom or social reasons! I hardly used it to begin with! I just didn't want to give anyone a reason to assume I was a miscreant or anything like that!

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I end up agreeing with @ and others in saying the best choice would be to hide my accounts! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a death blow to hide my accounts thus causing some adcoms to wonder if I might have had something to hide.

@ @ I do know many people who are going the "shut it down/hide it" route. I'm just wondering if that is truthfully the best idea in my case. I really don't feel as though I have anything to hide. Hiding my accounts, however, could tell adcoms that perhaps I do have something to hide. I just don't know how to read the situation haha.

Social Media and Applications How-To?

Hey there, folks! As I'm finally gearing up to send out my applications (fingers crossed!), I'd like some quick info on how to handle my social medias. Things like inappropriate pictures aren't a problem for me, but I was wondering about other small things which I ought to be showing/am better off leaving hidden or set to private.

Hopefully many 7sagers could benefit from this as well. For a couple specific questions to get things kicked off: I have a twitter, but I almost never tweet. When I do, it's almost always sports related as I'm a huge college football fan. There's no profanity or anything like that which would make it inappropriate, though. Keep it set to private? I'm about to graduate with my undergrad and I'm also engaged. Is this some info that I should display or am I better off having those things set to private? Does it matter?

So, assuming this hasn't been done before or there's no thread out there currently, what are some questions other people have and can anyone assist with some answers? What are some good tips? Really appreciate any and all discussion in advance!

Congrats!!!! If you don't mind my asking, how many points did you improve on retake? You don't have to give actual scores if you're uncomfortable with that sort of thing! I'd just like to know for my own motivation ^__^.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
