Hi! Wondering what exactly you guys noticed is the difference in patterns with the previous practice tests and the 150s. I know they are harder - but what exactly makes them harder? I found the real LSAT to be most reflective of the 150s tests, but I also struggled a lot on more on those that previous exams, dropping 5-6 points from my previous practice tests. My personal observation is that there seem to be more difficult Necessary Assumption and Weaken/Strengthen questions. Curious to hear your guys' thoughts!
Hey! I scored a 164 in August on my first Prep Test and looking to improve for my next one in October. Could you share any tips that got you to a 172 in the months between?
Hi! I'm located in the EST time zone and was looking for a study partner to meet virtually (or in person if you don't mind commuting in the Miami, FL area) to bounce ideas off of.
I'm currently scoring in the 160-170 range and would like to score 170+ on a more definite note.
I'd like to do some sections on our own time and come together to blind review them, or share questions that each other has been stuck on. I sometimes struggle to realize my own mistakes and want to bounce off different techniques that I may not currently be taking into account.
I currently plan to take the October LSAT - but open to any test dates that would like to study with me!
@AdelinaI The score range I have mentioned, I have gotten them all under a timed test. However, I feel that sometimes the time gets to me more than others and was looking for what I may be doing wrong in that scenario. Sometimes it really is question types that I usually get right and when I reread the question I’m immediately like “duh!” with the right answer but I miss the first time.
I do appreciate your first tip - I think I may be doing that too. I think definitely the type of question plays into it - when the question types in the exam are more my strengths, I take less time.
Hi! I recently took the August LSAT and wanted some tips on when to prioritize speed vs accuracy. My practice test scores have been variable, swinging between 163-171. I'd like to score a 170+
In both LR and RC, I am able to get almost every question right untimed. However, especially during the August LSAT, I felt like I had to guess on answers or speed through the questions when I wasn't 100% sure.
I know most of the advice is to work on the question types more and you will gradually get faster, which I intend to do before the October LSAT! But I was also looking for any advice you guys may have to get out of such a variable score and really work on speed without sacrificing accuracy for my next exam!
I think the explanation video on this was poor. This is what helped me understand what was wrong:
Ignoring Overlap/Other Groups: The 50% and 35% figures refer to different beliefs, not necessarily two distinct groups. Some people might believe resignation upon indictment is good and resignation upon conviction is also good, or some might hold neither view.
Incorrect Comparison: The conclusion leaps from "50% say 'yes' to indictment" and "35% say 'only if convicted'" to "more people prefer the indictment standard." It doesn't account for people who believe resignation should only happen upon conviction (a different viewpoint from simply "if indicted") or other opinions.
@SerinJ Thank you for this! Could you explain a little more about what you mean by the quantifiers and maybe provide an example? It seems this may be tripping me up during my PTs!
