Yeah the LSAT is definitely in its own linguistic world. Also have to find the balance where you know a question is using a suitable synonym (in reference to the text) or is actually trying to see if you misread.

All A is saying (I think) is that some practiced in both courts, but there were also some that practiced in only one of the two (not denying the possibility of practicing in an unmentioned court as well). This leaves open the possibility of many other legal courts. I think the "others" is the issue here and can be interpreted in different ways. I hope this helps, if I understand what you're getting at.

Low Res:

P1: Legal phenomenon/bad lawyers

P2: Two possible explanations

P3: Second explanation is better (1st reason)

P4: Final reason why second better

P5: Takeaways from the practice ((I had trouble understanding this in timed))

Higher Res:

P1: This legal guild in 1300s Europe was bad and didn't enforce poor conduct

P2: Two possible explanations: these lawyers were just really good or poor practice happened but discipline was in efficient

P3: Second explanation is better; civil courts actually did the discipline and this stuff actually happened

P4: These two huge associations also complained about the conduct

P5: The criticisms actually made lawyers defend each other even more

With a correlative chain like this, I'd map it out quickly, but properly, as you may just get more confused. I'd use a chain like this: FA ^; F/V ^; S (down arrow); H (down arrow). Switch one and the whole thing inverts.

I think I actually figured out a cool way of chaining up a correlation chain like this:

FA ^; F/V ^; S (down arrow); H (down arrow). Switch one and the whole thing inverts.

Nope, it's in the first sentence of the stimulus, that this law/proposal would protect employee cuts in general. But I can see why you thought it was the incentive part, as did I under time conditions. Question becomes much easier once the MC is determined.

I see what you mean, but in a sense, the idea here is that we're putting up another consideration to consider for someone evaluating this argument. I might still like this argument but would need more qualifications from the Editor. I've become less convinced of the conclusion based solely on the Editor's premises. This is a theme in the PT 90s weakening questions where a possible consideration, though not confirmed to be true or not, gives us a consideration that weakens an argument simply because the consideration may end up being true.

Damn, I chose C over D because D attacked the premises lol. I guess it's one of the few questions JY said we'd get wrong at the start of the curriculum if we followed the proper way of strengthening/weakening in the LSAT world. Though, MAYBE D is implying that new people will now follow recycling because it's easier to adhere to.

I think Q19 is a perfect poster boy for the importance of context in questions and bits from the passage. All the ACs could conceivably fit in the right context.

Took a bit longer on 9 because for AC B I thought it weird to say that the panda is a raccoon (more so in relation) because the picaro was never qualified as belonging to an already existing subset, rather it seems to be its own subset entirely. Though I do guess that it's analogous enough.

My bare bones explanation for this argument in lawgic:

S→GL

P→GL

Some P but also S

Conc: Some S and P→GL

Assumption: P→GL

AC E: Some /P and /GL

Kind of an annoying argument because it does seem to vaguely bring in outside info relating astronomy, even if seemingly reasonable and expected to know.

Well, just because an argument is flawed does not necessarily mean that its conclusion is false. Say I attacked a person's argument claiming that zoos are immoral and must be removed simply because they enjoy going to the zoo frequently. My method of reasoning is bad and I don't actually engage with the person's argument, so it's flawed in nature, but my conclusion that we must reject the other person's argument may still be correct. This is the same for other similar arguments on the LSAT where a politician's proposal is supposedly worthy of rejection because of some contradictory action they do/did. We might still be inclined to reject the proposal, but not for the reason of their contradictory actions.

The general structure here felt very easy, but man the details were kind of hard to wrap my head around, especially with only five minutes left. Thankfully the questions were fairly reasonable.

@treigysmartynas592 Same! I had 2 RC sections and thought both did a good job at keeping my attention. Some of the best RC I've seen in a while.

the section on the swamps was the only passage that really had me second guessing everything. (I don't want to break the rules by accident so I copy pasted the "okay" comments lol).

I found the RC pretty fun to read for the most part in all honesty. Hope for the same next test lol.

Ok y’all, like the rest I had to wait for over an hour. My situation was even worse because I got cleared just to get told to exit and log back in. Then…. Yes you guessed it I had to wait even more. Nonetheless, during that time I got hold of LSAC and was told that no test taker should wait for over 45 minutes and was instructed to file a complaint for a retake. So, if it’s happening to currently and you have waited for over 45 minutes, file a complaint and take it easy for today. It’s not worth it to add stress on an already stressful test.

Just wanna be clear. If I waited over 45 minutes (which I did) I can likely ask for and receive a free retake?

I would strongly recommend reading 7sage's 21 argument flaws just before the test too, in order to get a nice refresher.

A strategy that I just learned about is to drill yourself by doing the first 10-15 questions in a LR section as quickly as you can, if you're looking to increase your time. Perhaps try doing this every single day, multiple times/day. This is the strategy I've found the most helpful when it comes to increasing endurance/speed. Ideally, spending the first 15 q's in 15 min, then spending ~2 min on the last half of the section.

Hey, when drilling do you choose from PTs that you haven't done yet? If so, how do you choose between doing a PT like LSAT or just doing a section of the PT?

Thank you

Doing timed sections in the PTs from 36-50 is a good rule of thumb

Man I thought for Q21, "well it was the turn of the century that the theory started getting destroyed and these experiments helped cause it, but Planck made important contributions to that theory or whatever, so I think that answers that". Hate getting these curve breakers wrong when I'm on the cusp smh

Say you swapped "fatalities" to "head injuries" in AC D, would this constitute a necessary assumption? My feeling is probably no because it was never mentioned how many injuries, proportionally, were prevented by the new laws for motorcycle helmets, only that some were prevented. Head injury was also never mentioned as the most common injury for motorcycle riders. Please let me know if I am wrong!

I think this AC, in a simpler view, is very hard because the idea of a moral duty makes it seem/feel as though it is something that you should always abide by, and this limits our possibility to consider that there may be competing duties, or at least this was the case for me.
