Hey guys, I know this is early considering that we just took the test. BUT, what do you guys think the December curve will be?! Can we expect the usual generous December curve?!
I cannot wait 3 weeks for my score. The uncertainty is killing me!
Hey Gracelover, that's an interesting suggestion. The logic game has been effectively knocking me out of the 170 range and I am trying to improve my logic game score. I might give your technique a try since I normally run out of time for the 4th game. How were you able to decide which game was the hardest? Did looking for the hardest game take up much of your time?
Sorry to hear that. Feel better!
Complain to LSAC so you can take the next test free of charge (hopefully). If you have been consistently scoring around 177 on 33 tests, then you can bet that you will score very close to that on your retake. Also, some top schools still average LSAT scores so you want to take that into considerations. If you keep your Dec score and take another LSAT, then your scores will be averaged by some schools. In this case, cancelling the Dec score might be a good option IF you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you can get around a 177 on your retake. And of course it makes a difference. A 177 could mean a full ride to the law school of your dream.
I can't even assess how I did on the test. I felt logical reasoning and reading comp were "easy." Of course, there's always a chance of making silly mistakes under time pressure (and I really hope I didn't miss bubble anything). However, logic game, which I normally get -0 to -2, really threw me off. I scrambled through the last two games. I'm hoping that I did well enough on the other 3 sections to balance out logic game. But thinking about the potential silly mistakes that I might have made on the other 3 sections is stressing me out. Why is waiting for the score worse than waiting to take the test? It's so bad that I dreamt about the LSAT last night...
^LOL I did enjoy that stealing thunder passage.

It all comes down to how you "frame" these scores. Personally, I think a 142 and 160 look amazing. Why? You had an 18 point increase! I would highlight that as a strength, rather than as a weakness. Sure, a 160 isn't as impressive as a 170. However, you improved and that is what matters, or at least you should try to convince the admission committee that that is what matters more. On the other hand, there is nothing that indicates improvement with a cancelled score and a 160. This is just my opinion of course. Hopefully, more people will respond to give you a better idea of which option is better.
As for logical reasoning, I remember absolutely nothing. LOL
Okay guys, as far as reading comp and logic game are concerned, here are the real sections. For reading comp, the real one had a passage on perfume, free-decision making (comparative), stealing thunder, and Mexican American political activism (or something to that extent). For logic game, it's the one with the three rugs (solid/multicolored), which is a grouping game.
Guys, don't worry. A lot of people thought logic game was hard. I did PT 72 and 73 this week and the logic game sections in those tests were much easier than today's. Let's just hope for a nice, typical December curve.
I think my experimental was the 3rd section and it was one of those sections where I thought, "what the heck is going on?!" I can help you guys figure out which one of your sections was experimental, but I'm not sure if mentioning content of the test is a rule violation.
Hey Gracelover! Thank you for your advice! It's quite innovative and I haven't thought about doing something like that yet. I will definitely give it a try and see how it goes. Again, thank you! :)
