Conclusion:
narrow floorboards were a status symbol
We need find an answer choice to support the conclusion, which means that narrow floorboards can indicates that people living in big houses where the floorboards are narrow are rich. In other words, which answer choice is related to rich/money?
Obviously, only B and E. However, E is not closely related to the premise 1 and 2 because it emphasizes types of materials: marble and wood. But the stimulus doesn't care about which type of materials but sizes of wooden floors. Thus, B is correct.
