I realize why D is the correct answer. But doesn't E weaken the analyst's claim? Wouldn't the E answer also fulfill the "support except" criterion in the stimulus? The analyst predicts that the new bulb will sell poorly. E casts doubt on that conclusion by stating that a competing manufacturer of the new bulbs can introduce one that both lasts 10x longer and is cheaper than a conventional bulb. This information in E definitely does not provide support for the Analyst's conclusion.
Why are you solving for all possible worlds up front? That takes far too much time, and they wont even ask you questions about several of the scenarios. Instead, let each question's local rule (if x is 3rd... etc.) determine what scenarios you write out.
