Struggling with MSS

I am having trouble understanding how to approach MSS question types. Any tips on how to approach them?

At first, I chose D because the author linked words such as "winter" and "snow" to living in a cold environment. But I assumed that we can weaken the main point by indicating that PIE used words such as "heat" which can contradict the cold climate point made. But I continued to examine the answer choices and in the end chose B, this is why:

B) Some languages lack words for prominent elements of the environments of their speakers.

suggest that in certain languages, speakers may not use specific words to describe important things in their surroundings or environment compared to other people who speak that language.

In the case of PIE they may have had a different way of saying "sea" or may have not had a specific word for it as the "sea" did not play a significant part in their environment.
