For the June 2007 Prep Test, for Section 4 (RC) and question #13 ("Which of the following principles underlies the arguments in both passages?") I see why E is correct, but why is D incorrect ("The discovery of the neutrological basis of a human behaviour constitutes the discovery of the essence of that behaviour.") A detailed explanation would be appreciated!
I think the most simple and straight forward answer is because D is not mentioned in the second passage as a crucial feature that underlies the argument.
The question is asking us about the foundations of the passages. Certainly for the first passage in the second paragraph the author mentions that the connection between a behavior and a the neurons in the brain as incredibly important. This underlies the argument the author of the first passage is trying to make.
Where is letter D mentioned in the second passage? My view is that it's not. Not even briefly. And if this is the case, how could it underlie the passage?
Does this help? Would love for others to weigh in.
