I discovered that I made an error on my PS essay. Has anyone ever tried sending in a revised essay? How do schools take those kinds of requests?

I think it depends on what kind of mistake it is. This post on Law School Expert Blog might be helpful to you:

Would the LSAC site be able to help, maybe?

I have. I sent in a revised diversity statement to 9 schools, ranked #1-9. My mistake was a very insignificant typo.

    Send them an email:
    Subject:
Application revision question for applicant _________ (LSAC number)
    Body:
    Dear ______ Law School,

Can I submit an updated document to my pending application?

    Regards,
    Your Name

When they reply, they'll probably tell you to email them the document as a PDF. Make sure you include your name and LSAC number on the new document and in all correspondence with law schools.

That should work. Make sure your updated document has absolutely no grammatical issues or typos.

This is a good approach, I think. Maybe also put your name in the body of the email.
