Just wondering what the optimal timing might be in the cycle to make a first visit to a campus that you have on your list? Thanks.

I don't think the timing would make much of a difference but if it does I'd like to know that as well.

Do admissions officers really consider the fact that you visited campus when making a decision?

I feel like the optimal time would be a week or two prior to you planning on submitting your application. You can reference your experiences in your Why X statements and then when you meet with the admission counselor it's close enough that there is a chance they remember meeting you
