What's wrong with (C)?

"inner turmoil" suggests that the work was concerned with emotion, and Lichtenstein was rebelling against the fading emotional power of abstract art (lines 28-30)

"bold lines/primary colors" suggests that the work utilized pop art techniques, a movement that Lichtenstein was definitely a part of

You misunderstand the passage. From passage, we know that abstract expressionism means "a movement in which painters conveyed their private attitudes and emotions using abstract way" and second generation of abstract expressionists also are overly lyrical. Rebelling against those expressionist means that our Lichtenstein comic art is impersonal and not emotional. So "inner turmoil" is wrong character here.

Bold lines and primary color is the remarkable character of pop art so this trait is right.

For the right answer E, we can see "magazine advertisement" as "commercial-art"(line 3) and "comment on society's values" as "parody (line 34)".

How about "Lichtenstein's work ... against the fading emotional power of abstract expressionism"? The emotional power is fading. Why doew the rebellion has nothing to do with enhacing or strengthening or even comprising emotion? I don't understand why C is wrong. IMHO, it shows the rebellion on bringing back emotion to the painting using a cartoonic method.
