They can provide a retake a few days later. Whether they do or not has been dependent on who you talk to, how much time was lost, and the students ability to advocate for themselves and push for an immediate retake vs a cancel/coupon. There is a lot of inconsistency and no apparent hard rule as to what warrants an immediate retake.
