For the 174 people who do a retake, I'm curious to know why you decide to take again. I saw a post of a 174 who was aiming for 177. HYS have a median of 171-173
I had a migraine during my test and I feel genuinely lucky that I did not bomb it nonetheless. I PT-ed around 171, so it was truly lucky for me. However, since I was not in my best state during the test, and I only prepped for a short amount of time, I thought that it would be worth a shot to score a few more points. Aiming for merit-based scholarships, so would probably need a strong enough score.

Usually it's for bigger scholarships, splitters who need to be over the 75th, or just knowing they underperformed their practice.
To try to offset a sub-median GPA. Also medians are almost definitely going up.
