Could you guys talk about if it is a red flag to have a gap in working due to circumstances which are told in resume, or if noted you are actively searching for a job, it's okay since it is addressed? (Hoping to have one before I hit submit but also am curious if I can follow up with the law school about the change and if that makes a difference.)
A gap in your work history isn’t necessarily a red flag if you address it clearly. Being transparent about the reason for the gap—whether it's personal, health-related, or for further education—shows honesty. Highlighting that you're actively searching for a job or staying productive (like volunteering or upskilling) can show you're proactive.
For law school applications, if you’re addressing the gap in your resume or personal statement, that’s usually enough. However, if there’s a positive change (like securing a job), updating the school is a good idea. It shows professionalism and commitment.
Does 7Sage have any resources/guidance on writing the updated Diversity Statement (AKA experience/perspective essay)? I've heard it has kind of changed in scope since the SFFA decision.
