Answer B inserts an alternative factor that weakens the support the author uses in his argument. The focus is the breeding success of the bird. The author uses the nesting experience as the thing that lead to the successful breeding that occurs each time they nest they get better. Answer B says well, birds are able to breed better after each breeding cycle in the first couple of years that they breed.
B gives us another factor to consider, thus, weakening the support that the author put forth for his conclusion. It is not saying the conclusion is wrong, but hey you forgot to consider outsider factors so your argument isn't as strong as you thought it was.
Hope that makes sense.
