Submitting Now vs. Waiting for LSAT Score

rdnewellrdnewell Core Member

I have an LSAT score on file from the November LSAT, but it is not the score I need to get into the schools I want. I am taking the January LSAT to try and improve my score. So, do I submit now with my existing score, and hope that schools see the updated score later (if it is better)? Or do I wait to submit until after my LSAT score is released?

You'd need to note in your file that you'll submit a newer LSAT score; they'll put your app on hold until it's submitted (i.e. schools will see your updated score if this is the route you take, so you don't need to hope that they see it).

You can wait until it's released, but I've heard that submitting and putting it on hold will speed up the process just a bit.

Just submit it if it's ready. Many schools offer the option to indicate when your score will be released and LSAC will send it to them. If the school doesn't have that option just email the admissions office to let them know your score is forthcoming. I think it'll be faster that way.
