Official February LSAT Discussion Thread

edited February 2017 in February 2017 LSAT 12637 karma

Hey guys! Here's the official Feb. LSAT Discussion Thread. Please keep all discussions of the Feb. 2017 LSAT here!

Here's some ground rules, taken from my usual sticky:

We know that everyone will be excited to discuss what was on the Feb. '17 LSAT, but mentioning specifics about the test (e.g., "I got B for question 6" or "the 3rd LG was sequencing") can get both us and you in a lot of trouble with LSAC. Saying that the test was hard/easy without going into detail is okay, but anything more specific is not okay. LSAC monitors this forum.

If you're unsure what may be too specific, feel free to PM me with what you'd like to post.

The only exception is you can say which sections were real or experimental. For example, the LG with "flowers" was experimental. That's okay.

TL;DR: PLEASE don't talk specifics about Feb's LSAT!

Ok so I am trying to figure out which of my games section was experiemental. I don't remember anything from the first games section but the second I remember gold/silver vases and a games with with activities (painting,music...etc)

Also for other people since my experimental section was games the following are scored sections:
LR- a question about bicycles and accident rates, another one with a weird names lizard with spots (haha hope these help)
RC-pass about judge vs. jury, one about bees forging

I only had one game section and the one with the gold and silver was in it (so def not experimental)

Oh wow @mohsen_nh that news makes me so sad, it was my 5th section and I usually do so good at games but I bombed it. I've been sick for awhile and was happy with my performance until that last games section.

@Ruth_Lsat, yeah, I had it as my last section and it seemed brutal considering how tiring the test was...

Ya idk if it's because of my incompetency but that was brutal; I only got to finish 2 games :(

Added a bunch of keywords to unconfirmed - can someone without an experimental section for LG take a peek?

Edit: RC was confirmed, just need LG/LR to fill in the blanks!

So upset. I think I shifted my answers in the last section and ended up with an extra answer (102 total). Unsure whether to cancel or not. T-T

I remembered both LRs have 26 questions and LG has 23 questions. Unless RC has 26 questions, the total should be 102. I dont know if RC only has 26 questions. I feel it was a standard 27- questions session

The LG section with the 12 weeks of summer camp was a real section. A girl from my room was with me on the train ride home, and said she had the summer camp game, plus three LR sections.

I had 2 RC sections, and they both had 27. Nice to know both LRs had 26. I'm really not used to seeing 102 questions.

If you cancel within the 6 days, does it still count as a take?

    @LSAT04164

    From the LSAC website FAQ:

How many times can I take the LSAT?
Normally, you may not take the LSAT more than three times in any two-year period. This policy applies even if you cancel your score or it is not otherwise reported. LSAC reserves the right to withdraw your registration, rescind your admission ticket, or take any other steps necessary to enforce this policy.

    Official RC was:

    Judges and juries
Indian literature vs Roman political history
    Liberal environmentalists and ecology
Bees (optic measuring, distance traveled, multiple studies)

How can you guys tell which sections are official? I had 2 RC sections. One had bees and the other was about self portraits. The self portraits was the first one. Dang I wish that was the official one. I had plenty of time to check my answers. The other I had to guess the last few.

@cskent329 Because the experimental section is not the same for everyone. Common denominators + test structure.

Your section may be shifted, so don't go based off of that.

Yeah...it isn't linear. That would be too easy. The LSAC is too good at what they do.

Ugh... I'm bummed that the 12 week game was real... This was the section that the guy in front of me started whispering with one of the proctors. So I got distracted and it delayed the start of my game. And that wasn't the worst of it....He kept getting up out of his seat (escorted by a proctor) and making maddening noises!

It seemed like he wasn't taking this test seriously. I kept trying to keep calm -- hopefully I did a good enough job!

May want to bring this up with LSAC if you're unsure of how you did based on that.

Yup. Didn't get to check my answers in the last section so was extremely freaked out.

Also, something about children and beakers, and ravens and worms in a beaker were LR questions.

    or maybe they were crows...

    • Ravens/crows and worms (dropping pebbles in a tube)

I have the same sections as you. But not sure which LR is experimental. Feel like the first LR is kind of unusual and like experimental. All them have 26Qs. I am not sure, but feels like in the first LR there is the "drinking coffee for #and # yrs". Is this the experimental LR?

They were crows throwing pebbles in to get the worms up out of the water. And yeah the children and half filled beakers. I only had two LR and remember these.
