I don't listen to anything because it's too distracting. Some people say that classical music (no lyrics) helps them. If I'm in a coffee shop or somewhere not very quiet, I'll listen to a white noise track on my phone.
Usually nothing because I don't want to get too used to having music and then not have it on test day. I'm lucky and I can study at work a lot though so that's definitely part of it.
I personally don't understand how or why people study with music on, for me it's perfect silence. Occasionally i'll put on room ambience with shuffling of papers, sniffling or footsteps just because that's what the test is going to be like.
Usually? My dogs barking at something or a lot of background noise. No music though. I think it was would bad to get used to having music when I cant have any come test day
I have an iPhone and the same thing happened to me. Phones don’t let you both run a video/play music and record a video at the same time. When I realized that I just ran the proctor on my laptop.
For just studying I primarily listen to two artists: 1) This Will Destroy You 2) Explosions In The Sky. If you like more down-tempo instrumental music you should check them out. Very relaxing. For timed practice I listen to nothing just to stay focused.
Word - I always forget that and open it while listening to podcasts. I hate having to choose! Haha. I don’t know how difficult that is to change, but being able to run background music/pods would be awesome.
Real RC (REALLY TOUGH!): 14th amendment, music/words (comparative)
Real LG (fairly easy/standard/no oddball misc games): putting people in booths, musicians/ exhibitions
