I was wondering where you are seeing the applications and essay prompts. Every time I log into LSAC, it seems to only show the applications for Fall 2018, but not Fall 2019. When would we see the Fall 2019 applications or how do we work ahead?
Should you visit the school before applying so you can write a solid why X essay? Do this for each school? Just for your top choice? Just for reach schools?
Super helpful seminar, particularly the timeline and unpackaging of the application. Of the course, really appreciate the regression model (as an economist) and the deeper dive into what the point of each essay really is/how best to approach it.
Also Duke! I believe it's explicitly stated as an option essay (where other schools, UVA for example, don't even mention them even though they are strongly favored)
I think you have decent chances if you apply early. With Cornell's mandatory little essay, make sure you communicate that you have researched in depth about Cornell.
I like the first generation essay but feel that could also be a great personal statement. Remember that you're diversity statement is only one page so you may be limiting yourself if you make this your diversity statement.

something related to playing college football would make for a great essay. Just don't be cliche and talk about some difficulty and how you persevered and overcame that adversity.
