You may take this opportunity to clarify questions contained in this Application for Admission, provide additional information that you feel should be considered in evaluating your application, or you may elect to write about another subject that addresses your decision to attend Touro Law Center.

Touro Law Center values diversity in its student body. Attach a complete explanation if you are not in good academic and disciplinary/social standing at the law school(s) you have attended or where you are currently registered.

If you are unsure whether an incident in your past requires an affirmative response to any of the following questions, you are advised to contact the Admissions Office 631.761.7010 to request clarification. However, you are advised to make full disclosure in this application, since you will be required to do so when you apply to take the bar examination and/or seek admission to practice. Please understand that the failure to candidly respond to a question is, almost without exception, a far more serious matter than the underlying event itself***.***

1. Have you ever, for any reason, been suspended from, placed on probation at, required to withdraw from, or been subject to any disciplinary action at any educational institution (above elementary school level), including law school? Address all prior and/or pending matters.

2. Are there currently or have there been any disciplinary charges against you? This includes but is not limited to any professional licensing matters.

3. Have you, at any age, unless specifically excluded below, been charged with, indicted for, tried for, convicted of, or pleaded guilty to, any felony or misdemeanor or the violation of any law? In your response, disclose any matter in which you were adjudicated a youthful offender or received an equivalent adjudication in another jurisdiction.

Do NOT report:

a. any matter in which you were adjudicated a juvenile delinquent in Family Court or other noncriminal proceeding;

b. any citation, ticket or arrest that did not result in criminal charges or an indictment, trial, conviction or guilty plea;

c. vehicle and traffic matters that occurred more than 10 years before the filing of this application, EXCEPT alcohol or drug-related traffic violations, which must be reported in all cases, irrespective of when they occurred; or

d. parking violations.

If yes, please explain in a supplementary statement or electronic attachment the charge or charges and relevant facts, including the nature of the offense, the dates and courts involved, and the penalty imposed, if any.

4. Are there any criminal charges, other than minor parking violations, pending against you now?
   Any pending charge involving alcohol or controlled substances must be disclosed.

5. Have you received a military discharge under other than honorable conditions?

6. Have there been any civil judgments filed against you?

7. Is there anything in your social media postings (past or present) that is inconsistent with the mission or Code of Conduct of the University or with that of the program in which you will be enrolled?

You are under a continuing obligation to notify the Admissions Office of any changes in your answers to these questions up until the time of your enrollment. STANDARDIZED TESTS

All applicants are required to take either the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE.) We will accept LSAT and/or GRE scores from tests administered within the past five (5) years. Since we accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle, we will consider scores released at least two (2) weeks before the start of classes.

GRE takers must designate Touro to receive all reportable scores from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Our GRE Designated Institution (DI) Code is 3223.

Please note: the GRE may not be submitted in lieu of the LSAT if an applicant has already taken or plans to take the LSAT.

LSAC CREDENTIAL ASSEMBLY SERVICE (CAS)

All applicants, regardless of which standardized test is taken, must create an account with the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) and register for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS.)

QUALIFICATION FOR LICENSURE

The Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center is approved by the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association, 321 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60654, 312-988-6738, and is authorized to award the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. The J.D. program meets the law school educational requirements to sit for the bar exam in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories of Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Please note: acceptance into the J.D. program is not a guarantee of licensure in any state or jurisdiction.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO THE BAR (AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION STANDARD 504)

Each state/jurisdiction has its own requirements for admission to its bar. For information about state bar examinations, please visit the American Bar Association website at: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/legal_education/resources/bar-admissions/bar-exams/.

In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

A number of states require that persons intending to practice law in those states register with a designated state office or official prior to beginning the study of law. Students should therefore ascertain and comply with such requirements in the jurisdictions where they expect to practice. You are encouraged to review these requirements at www.ncbex.org.

Take great care when preparing the Application for Admission. Answer all questions fully and accurately. Include your name and LSAC account number on all documents accompanying the application.
