Explicit purpose: Request help about improving timing

Implicit purpose: Flex a great score

Watch the clock hehehhe, I have no doubt you'll be fine on the exam!

@Kevin Lin and I did a deep dive on @dreph25's analytics for this PT, saw some patterns, and made some recommendations. Wanted to share this with everyone:

@J.Y.Ping This is great. May we have such analysis of other high scoring PTs so we can see typical timing strategies. Also is it possible to get just the data on the test (like timing etc. may be easier than taking screenshot after screenshot of the timings on questions)?

It would be nice to see someone give a test live (kind of like gamers play games live while others are observing them & their commentary & thinking. It would be nice to see a professional test taker and or beginners give these tests with live commentary and thinking out loud while they are giving the test, please.).

Congrats!! For LR I find it really helpful to blitz through the first 12-15 questions as quick as possible, you have to be confident in your ability to do 1 to 3 star questions quickly. Since I started doing that I've never had an issue with running out of time at the end.

I've been having timing issues with RC though. I'm curious, how do you get better at RC and how do you manage your time?

@TheBigFatPanda Thanks so much! I'll definitely have to try going fast when I have the time and stamina. I think I definitely check over my answers in the first 1/3 for longer than I should even when I feel really good about them. For RC, I love doing the split approach for the comparative passage and making sure to not spend time on options that I can eliminate for any reason. Often I feel that it's easy to see an answer that involves multiple modifiers or variables and if I can eliminate it based on a single one then I can cross it out and move right out. Outside of that it's just trying to make sure I get a good low-res 1. so I can make sure I'm actively reading and 2. so I can know where to go back if I absolutely need to. Hope this helps!
