Self-study
I got a 144 on a recent PT and need a 160 to get in to my target school. My test is in August, is it feasible to make a 16-point jump from now to then or should I wait to take it and apply in a different cycle... or should I rethink if I should be a lawyer altogether lol.

My diagnostic was a 144 the through poor study habits took the Januray test and got a 146. Been four months since then and my most recent PT was a 164. So your situation is totally doable, the hardest part is finding study and learning system that fits your learning style. For me it was weekly tutoring, short daily drills on weak topics, and one untimed RC passage per day. Weekly timed tests broken into sections taken over two days was helpful too, less burnout by taking a full test all at once and makes review lots more managable, especially when your scoring -10 or more per section.
Also breaking through the 150's is so challenging, but after that gets easier. In the 150's I remeber the questions sounding like greek to me and just having no clue how anyone could track the reasoning, that goes away and understanding becomes more habitual with practice.
I just took April administration and it felt pretty good, hoping for a better score than my PT's and excited for the June test aswell. Long story short- you got this, dont loose hope, focus on learning and detach from score. You got this.
Keep trying, do not set yourself back a whole year just because it’s hard right now! Only make that postponing decision (which is perfectly fine to do) after you take the August LSAT and get your score.
Also, your LSAT is important but it’s not everything. You can score below the past median but have an amazing GPA and application.
I’m in literally the exact same boat. Even have the 144 to match. We’ve got this!
These tests are made to break you. Do NOT give up on being a lawyer. These tests vary in the level of difficulty, and you need a solid system of how to weed through and grab easy points, and go back to what is harder for you and then use the skills you have learned to break each one down systematically. There are so many things that the LSAT does that are sneaky and tricky. Focus on ONLY using the information provided. Remember, direction matters for inference questions and don't pick new ideas for answers. For weaken, what breaks the link? The heavy text stimuli....just skip those bad boys. LOL. Time is your enemy and its called logical reasoning. Not everyone has the same logic patterns due to life experiences. And if you get a 157, but have a 3.8 GPA, a great resume, great letters of recommendation, volunteer experience, etc, 160 isn't a gatekeeper and everyone under that number gets the boot. Email the Admissions Director to do a zoom meeting and ask advice and questions. Get yourself on their radar. You got this!!!!
To give you some confidence I scored a 143 in January on my diagnostic and got a 159 last weekend. VERY much possible! You got this.
I wouldn't let the LSAT make you rethink if you should be a lawyer. These tests are so hard. You got this. I think it's possible to get the score you want.
