Hello!
I am currently studying to take the August LSAT. I have about 2 weeks under my belt using 7Sage, but I was wondering how realistic it is to go from a 150 (PT taken 3 weeks ago) to a 163?
I am only applying for Law Schools in Canada, and my dream school's LSAT Median is 160. I am doing 3 summer courses currently, so I have more time to study than most who work full-time, but the LSATs can't be my entire focus. My current study plan ranges from 2-4 hours a day, 6 times a week, but I am having a hard time finishing the daily study modules, ESPECIALLY when I have other assignments.
This entire process has been very confusing, and I am getting tons of mixed information about how attainable my goal score is within my timeline.
Should I consider moving my test date to September?

Hello from a fellow Canadian! It's generally difficult to predict what scores are "achievable", but your goal is certainly not unrealistic. There are (in my opinion) two things you could do:
If you don't mind taking the test twice, you could try for August but anticipate taking September if your PT scores aren't at your goal score by August. I think it's possible to get to your goal score by August, but the timeline would be tight and there's really no way to know how close you are to your goal until you finish the curriculum and start PTing regularly. Don't rush or push yourself too hard to fit the August timeline, since fatigue and burnout can end up backfiring! You could still take August if you're around your goal but not exactly there, and if you're far away from your goal, you could skip August and just do September. Just be aware of the fees/refund situation with LSAC, because this option would end up being more expensive than just taking August.
If you strictly want to take the test once, September would be the safer option. The core curriculum is quite long, and the majority of drilling/practicing will have to be done after the core curriculum. This means that by the time you register for the August test (the registration deadline is in two weeks), you likely won't have done much drilling, and may not know if you're close enough to your goal score. So if you really don't want to do the test twice, waiting until September would be safer. The issue would be that if you wanted to retake after getting your September score, your next possible test would be the November test -- so you wouldn't have your score until after you submit your applications. I can't provide too much info on that aspect, since I'm not an admissions expert, but it's something to have in mind!
I know this can be super confusing, but I hope this was helpful! Happy studying!

Thank you so much for the reply!
You had said that after September there next testing cycle is in November, but I thought that there was an October cycle? Is this not available in Canada?
Your message was incredibly helpful, and has given me a lot to consider. I do think I am going to complete the September regardless, but seriously consider dropping August. This will be my task for the next two weeks!
Thank you again, your advice is VERY appreciated!
@onecomfysweater September test scores come out at the end of September, but the October registration deadline is August 27th. So if you wanted to know your September score before registering, your next test option would be November. But if you wanted to take October anyway, you could totally do so as long as you register before the deadline!
Hope this helps!
