I took PT 154 and had -8 on the experimental section but -1 or -2 on the normal ones. Is there something that made the experimental section on that test in particular more difficult? Those questions are still valid as questions worth examining right? Just trying to understand becuase it's the best I've done in a PT so far and the disparity is driving me crazy.

Seconding what Phoebe said - that's a great place to be with your score! Experimental section have the joys of potentially being much more difficult or much easier depending on the test. They are still questions that could realistically be seen on the LSAT though, so not doing as well on the experimental is a great opportunity to look at the extra data points! As with any practicing, it's important to carefully review your wrong answers to understand why you got them wrong and not make the same mistakes in the future. Don't get discouraged! It's just an opportunity to keep improving!

@AltanM Thank you so much for your response! Glad to know they're just the same as any other, I suppose the disparity was just due to the fact it was the first section or it perhaps had the kind of questions I was weak at.

First of all, congrats on the score! -1 and -2 are more than just okay.

Essentially, no, doing worse on the experimental section doesn't necessarily mean anything. The experimental sections are still valid in containing questions worth examining and learning from, and that data is valuable! For studying purposes, there's no real difference between the experimental and non-experimental sessions. I would check to see if there are any patterns in the experimental section: were there question types you particularly had trouble with? Was it more of a mentality/timing as (if I'm remembering correctly) the experimental section came at the beginning?

I hope that helps, and good luck with the studying!

@PhoebeHopp Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! Now that I know that for certain I think I will have an easier time just considering what other factors it might have been, like question types or the fact it was the first session as you suggested. I appreciate the response!
