Self-study
hi, i am in the process of asking for LORs. however, i am unsure how long they are supposed to be. i dont know if it differs from school to school, but my recommender would ideally write a general letter. also, do i need to give them any information like school /company information to add, etc?

Just to address the simple part of your question - most letters of rec are about a page long! Nothing too fancy!
And for other folks who may be reading this at a later time - most recommendors have done this before. They know what they should include, say, and the length. But if they need some help, that post that @SerinJ provided is a good resource!
Hello! There is this page on 7Sage that provides some tips to a recommender, in case that recommender has never written a LOR for law school before. And in general, it would be helpful for your recommender to have your resume and/or personal statement, just as the resource they can refer to.
When you add these into to the CAS portion of LSAC you are able to specifiy if you want that LOR for one school or all schools. Additionally, you want to waive your right to view the letters before they are submitted, this is explained when you are completing the entry as well. Your LOR isn't reviewed for things other than how lovely you are, do you want it to be well written? Of course, but these letters come from all different people, and schools know that not everyone is writing an elevated level. It is nerve wracking but pick people who think highly of you and try not to stress.
