Hi everyone! I have been intensely WAJing for awhile now and I feel like one of my biggest problems is "oh I missed this word/phrase in the stim/question/answer choice." I'm struggling to create a rule or habit that helps me get past these slip ups, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips. I think part of it is that I've spent so much time studying that I'm getting a little bored and glazing over things, but I really can't find a way to lock in and pay attention to each detail throughout the whole test.

Hello, I want to add my own strategy in case it helps!

I used to get LR MSS and Resolution questions wrong because I missed a piece of information in the stimulus. To fix this, I started treating each LR stimulus like a treasure hunt. It sounds simple, but it shifts your mentality into something fun and exciting that requires your full attention to every single word and phrase. Treating it like a game set my mind to: 'Okay, I am going to discover every hidden clue in here, let's go!'

Alternatively, pretend as if someone very, very important to you is passionately explaining this to you. You will try to understand what they're saying and not miss a detail, regardless of what they are talking about.

It is totally understandable that you are glazing over things; the LSAT drains a great amount of stamina. But it is actually a great thing that you have identified your habit! Now that you know what to fix, you can consciously catch yourself and reset your focus.

I hope this helps, and best of luck!

Are there certain words or indicators you're missing? It could help to pinpoint what it is that makes you gloss over them. In the WAJ, it's easy to let yourself off the hook, but maybe there is something in common with what you're missing!

I would also recommend making sure you get eyes on every word, since they all matter, especially in LR. The LSAT is a nitpicky test, so the little things make a difference. It can be hard to slow down at first, but it can pay dividends!

@AltanM honestly i miss descriptive modifiers that end up being important which is a hard one to fix because a lot of times the descriptions make the passage or AC dense or confusing
