I have been studying overall for ~6 months but more intentionally for the past 3 months. My diagnostic was a 153, my highest PT so far was a 167, and my average PT score is roughly 163/164. My goal is to break 170 in either the August or September LSAT. I feel I am plateauing in the low/mid-160s, despite consistent, thorough Blind Review, WAJ entries, and targeted drilling. Looking for a private tutor to hopefully find and address flaws or shortcomings in my study and testing habits.

    Hi Shay,

    I can definitely help you.

The place I would start is by building a structured framework that creates much greater consistency from question to question. Within that framework, we then build two different sets of skills.

First are the memorization skills—the things you have to know, such as question types, passage parts, reasoning methods, and answer processes. Second are the performance skills—the things you have to be able to do, such as recognizing those patterns in the question stem and passage, applying the appropriate analytical process, and evaluating answer choices consistently under timed conditions.

Once that framework and those skills begin working together, students usually start earning points much more consistently because every question is being approached through the same repeatable process. It also makes it much easier to identify any remaining weak spots so that your drilling and review become much more targeted and productive.

Based on what you've described, I think August or September is still a very realistic timeline for getting over the 170 mark.

I'd be happy to learn a little more about your preparation and discuss how I'd approach your situation.

    Best,

    Scott

Hi there! I scored a 175 this past June and had a similar prep journey. I was stuck in the 160s for the longest time but eventually made it to the 170s. I know how it feels to get stuck even after putting in a lot of work. If you're interested in free sessions, you can reach out.
