Hey guys, I'm a undergraduate student going into my 3rd year. I got an internship as a student researcher at a think thank tied with my university over the summer and managed to get the chance to publish an academic article through an academic journal in migration studies. My question is would this help with my application letter? Is this something that is highly sought after or just a "cool story bro" moment? Thanks in advance!

Good question, @Qfaivre! I’d file this under “cool story, bro” (which I mean politely because I have teens so everything is “bro/bruh” related). That sounds like a great experience and a good way to spend a summer between academic years. Is it going to move the needle for admissions in a huge way? That’s unlikely, unless this is somehow directly tied to your legal interests. But is it a good and worthwhile thing to see on your resume? Totally!
@JacobBaska thank you for the response! That makes sense. I think it does relate in someway to my legal interest, so that great to know! I'm definitely not banking my admission on this experience, but I'm hoping that it helps set me apart from the other admission🙂
Definitely add it to your resume! This is super cool and an incredible accomplishment that not everyone can say they've achieved. Adding it can't hurt but not adding it can.
