Hi all, I am a first-generation college grad, so law school isn't even something anyone in my family ever considered. Because I don't really have anyone to ask about this process, I feel even less prepared to navigate the admissions process for law school than I did for undergrad - especially because I would love to go to a T14. It feels so far out of reach that I'm not really sure where to start, but I have wanted to go to law school since undergrad (I graduated in 2021 but have been working since), and I know this is my next career move. I am improving consistently in my LSAT prep, which is exciting, but I've been dreading starting my essays and applications. Any tips?

The other thing to consider is that you don't need to do everything all at once. Just do one doc at a time, and one draft at a time!
Does your undergrad’s office of career services support alums? Or do you have a dream school that has a first gen club that you could reach out to? (The latter suggestion might be a bit of a reach but worth a shot)
I think having someone who can walk you through the steps and keep you accountable is huge! I despise essays, so I’d set up meetings w my career services advisor to give me deadlines, and that helped a lot.
And since the applications have so many parts, I made a spreadsheet (lol) w each school I’m applying to and their essays, which I’m using like a checklist.
I didn’t even think about reaching to my undergrad office - that’s a great call. Thank you!
