🙃 Confused

Question/Debating

I am applying for the Law School Cycle of 2027. I was going to have my final LSAT be October, and I am essentially done with my essays/resume/letter of recs. However, I always have a what if I do better feeling and debating signing up for November. So far law school admission counselors have been saying before January is "early" but I know it is so competitive that past years before Thanksgiving is considered early. Do you think it is worth it to take the November, worse case scenario if Oct doesn't go well, and apply by December 2nd (when the results come out). Or is that way too late? Thank you!

Hi love, i'm in the same boat and decided that if I am able to take it again (so many people arent) I absolutely will. Worst case scenario we lose 200 bucks, but you have nothing to lose by trying again. If your app materials are ready, register for nov but be prepared to submit after oct score.

You will never regret registering, but you could one day regret not trying again. A higher score beats an earlier app with a lower one (9 times out of 10) I hope our October scores are high enough to not worry, it is just good to have another test opportunity to fall back on. Good luck love ya!

p.s you can only take it You can take the LSAT a maximum of seven times over your lifetime so keep that in mind

Yes yes, it will definitely also elevate the stress of the October score as well having November in my back pocket. Thank you so much!!!

As I'm sure that one admissions guy will say, the best advice is to apply with the strongest application possible. If you are confident you will score higher in November, wait and apply then!

You're right that before Thanksgiving is the most advantageous, but before Christmas I think is still okay. If you haven't already, LSD has a predictor where you can see how applying later in the cycle might affect your odds. I know 7Sage is working on integrating timing into their predictor, too, so you can compare what they say as well!

Either way, December 2 is not "way too late"! Hope this was helpful :)
