Hi everyone. Just writing because I'm hoping to end my studying with a 175+ official, and I'm curious to know when people who scored at or above that number knew they were ready. I'm debating with myself over whether to take the January 2027 LSAT, or just wait till April. My PT scores are pretty consistently in the 170s, but they have historically fluctuated within the 171-177 range. I haven't PTed since the beginning of this month, since I'm already running low on fresh material. What signs of readiness should I be looking for? Any tips or advice for me? Thank you.

I was in a similar situation, wanting a 175+ and PTing in the 173-177 range. What I'll say is it's very difficult to make 175 your floor. Even if you're capable of a 180, it's tough to never slip and land below 175. So at some point, you just have to start getting official scores up and hoping that one of them pops. My first take was a 173 and my second take was a 177. I didn't feel like much changed in between them in terms of my skill level. So my advice would be to avoid being a perfectionist. You're already in a super high range. Take advantage of that and start getting some shots up. If it were me, I'd be taking that January test if you're hitting that 175 mark a chunk of the time.
If running low on material, I would prioritize trying to create test-like conditions to the best of my ability. Retake your earliest test and get into the test day mindset. Practice your approach just as you would on test day. That will be the X factor on if you score towards the top of your range or the bottom.
