@ Yes Alex, it's all about mindset, and attitude of approach to the test I feel. So cool, or I'm just a geek, either way it's cool and FUN!

@ Yes, that's exactly how I feel now, it's good to be wrong now so I can get it right later (like the old candy, it's good Now FOR Later - with an LSAT twist on the name)! Lol...

Question: Are the BR's conducted by JY recorded, so that for those of us that didn't attend can listen to how it should be done? I only ask as I'm not at the BR(ing) stage just yet in my studies, but once I make it there, I want to be sure to employ the 'Gold Standard'? Thanks.

Hello Everyone. Quick question, JY speaks of the best approach/framework to a Social Science Passage as being Phenom/Hypo; do any of you happen to know what are the best approaches/frameworks to use for Law, Natural Sciences and Humanities? I think Natural Science maybe be Phenom/Hypo also, but just wanted to have a sounding board to see if I'm headed in the right direction? Thanks ALL!

@ Thanks Alex! That truly is a great goal score, and the proper mentality to approach the test with as to do that the fundamentals definitely has to be down, among other things. Just having that kinda work ethic towards the test can't do anything but yield you good returns if we're mature about it. Just a thought...

For what it's worth, I heard on one of the Webinars, one of the Sages' said that he would always do a Reading Comp passage as his first section (which is really his 5th section in essence). His logic was, if that is first, as he begin to get tired on his new 5th section, which is in reality is his 4th section that is/will be scored! This has been great motivation for him. Hope this helps.

@ I don't know if you need this, or ever encounter a situation where you run into a snag (in RC & get stuck), in LG freeze for an extra minute or so trying to figure things out, or forget how something translates in LR, here's some of what I call 'Get you out of a jam stuff (concrete vs variables)' for each section:

LG: Always quickly take stock (JY says this), look at the Contrapositive(s) & the Out Group interaction with them as you move from there, then go to Pieces (players) Inventory.

LR: Unless translation, either "if not" or "must be' in the sense that it must happen" should work. For example, 'You can't drive unless you are at least sixteen (16) years old'.

No translation, this is the other one I've heard: 'No cats are dogs' or come up with something that you can easily remember.

RC: i) work with the context: what's happening around the confusing portion, what's the author doing, presenting or defining a term or articulating a side in the argument.

ii) contain the damage: reread the sentence for clarity, note it with a question mark, so you can mentally move on without allowing that fuzziness to throw you off your focus with the rest of the passage.

iii) rename complex ideas: come up with a nickname or shorter name for long, difficult words. Categorize confusing terms to one side or the other in an argument/debate, is this difficult word a 'good guy' or 'bad guy' in the text.

iv) visualize: try to picture things, characters as you read doing some action in the text, and low res your way through.

These are just somethings I've learned along the way, don't know if you need any of it, but there you have it for what it's worth.

@ yes, back to back, so in essence two (2) full tests back to back. For endurance. It also will provide you additional insights into testing from your old PTs, realizations that you didn't and couldn't notice otherwise (i.e., like how you read RC passages and what you may notice on a second run through of those passages now verses before). Just a thought.

@ 1) look at the ACs going from Wrong-to-Right in the POE process, 2) apply the Negation Test on the answer you think is the correct choice. A side note, it is vitally important to identify the Conclusion, and a subtle observation that I have seemed to note that happens in the correct ACs is that they tend to go from grabbing a piece of the Conclusion and a Premise (in some way). Hope this helps! You've got to have fun with it, say to yourself, I missed that because I misread the Q-stem or I didn't correctly ID the conclusion. This won't happen again, talk to yourself, try to enjoy learning it and it may help you get the break through you need.

No. However, I suggest that you check with the school's you find of interests, to gauge how scholarship and stipend monies are handled with a February LSAT score for Fall of 2018.

@ have you tried doing a new PT and an old (retest) PT (so you don't waste valuable material and it may help you see old passages in RC in a new light) back to back, this may help with endurance, or begin adding a 5th section on your weakest section? Just a thought. Videoing yourself to maximize efficiency on sections/questions, etc, is definitely a way to propel you into that next dimension from what I've been told. Also, I've heard, for the questions you're missing type out explanations for each aspect. Hope this helps.

Have you tried listening to Post Curriculum, Skipping Strategies and Allison 170+ Webinars, as well as tried pushing to do 15 or 20 questions in 15 or 20 minutes? This may give you that boost/edge of confidence to help you to stop seconding guessing what your intuition tells you. You have to just try to do it on an old test or two, before using a new one, just my thoughts. Hope it helps. I also created a spreadsheet that may help you target areas and reflect on things as you progress. Send me your email address, if you'd like to see the document, if not that's fine as well. I wish you all the best!

@ good luck and Best Wishes with your administration!

Hello everyone, this may sound or seem like a dumb questions, but where do I find: All PrepTests in Starter (36 - 44) are now viewable and printable as DRM protected e-docs? And what does DRM mean? Thanks.

Good morning. This is a recurring thought that I've had and trying to find a framework/rule of thumb that I can use, although it may not work for every question, I'd like to have a go-to base to start from.

One of my toughest things, on the LSAT, has been trying to come up with how JY have what the potential answer may look like. An Answer Choice Framework (this is what I call it), as you think about which answer choice maybe correct before you get to them. I think I've found what JY may use as a basis, other than just gut intuition, as an Answer Choice Framework (as I summon my inner JY), please tell me if I'm wrong: A caused B; B caused A; C caused both A&B; or total Unrelated/or off topic?

I'm thinking, if I label the parts of the argument as 'A' or 'B', etc., then simply look for reversals or alternatives, etc.

What I'm thinking is, that should be my ground rules or rule of thumb, to formulate what a potential answer may look like. Please tell me if I'm totally off base?

PS

On the logical indicators, "Is/Are", they introduce subsets, JY didn't say this but it seems to me that the Subsets these words introduce should be the Sufficient Condition. Am I wrong in thinking this way when speaking of them as Logical Indicators?

Just curious, if JY were to answer the question, would his answer help us get a 180 on the LSAT or in the 99th percentile? Whatever his reasons, I'm happy for him and me too, because without him doing what he has done, I wouldn't have the shot at this exam that I now have. Just my opinion, that's just me, good luck everyone with your administration!

Math Type Questions

Does anyone have a simple Framework/Diagramming approach to Math-type questions that you can rely on? This is for questions like those found in PT 31, Sect 2, Ques 15 (31, 2, 15) or those found at these locations as well: 27, 4, 14; 21, 2, 10; 34, 3, 21? Thanks for any tips/pointers!
