I think it is eay more important to remember the form of inferences or even organization. For sequencing game it is really worth noticing something like s is not first. Usually that statement is there cuz whe you combine these rules the chance is that s is not just first or third forth and fifth. There definitely are pattern of inferwnces and we gotta remember them

Thanks

LSAC won't do crap about that and i'd be worried if something like that took you off your game..you need to get used to being around distractions.

Do both. Memorize the inferences as well as practice making them. You'll need to do both to be successful on future games. If you're having trouble reproducing them then chances are you haven't properly memorized the correct inferences.

Do people commonly write out explanations for LG? I'm unaware of this. I don't actually write out explanations for LG. Only for LR and RC. Instead, for LG, I re-do them untimed during my BR and seek to solve each answer by drawing out different game boards and proving/disproving the right/wrong answers.

Thanks

2 Questions on LG

Hello,

I have two questions for you guys.

When we are fool proofing using Pacificos or JYs way, are we practicing "memorizing" the inferences and/or "making" inferences. The reason I am asking this is because it is extremely easy for me to remember the inferences from a game once I have watched the video explanation. I can knock the game out fairly quickly this way. However, if I focus on making an inference and going through the process of making the inference, it become a lot more time consuming. If anyone could clarify in regards to this is would be greatly appreciated.

I have noticed that some of the you here are writing out your answers when doing blind review for LG, explaining the inferences to gauge whether you fully understand the game or not. When it comes to writing out explanations, could some one please clarify their method as to how they go about writing out explanations?

Thanks and much appreciated!

Should I be doing the LG problem sets JY's original way with 10 copies and drilling 3 on day 1, 3 on day 2 and 4 on day 3? Or can I skip this completely or reduce it to Pacificos method. Any help would be appreciated! Thank You

Thank you! I will do Pacificos method for the problem sets. If anyone has anything else to add it would be appreciated.

"The Partially Examined Life" is worth a look.

It varies depending on your level of understanding, timing and nerves also play a role. The PT is basically used to gauge when you are ready to take the exam. If your achieving your target score consistently while PTing, you are likely ready to take the actual test. If your nervous about your performance or still don't understand concepts fully, you are probably not ready. Nerves can be mitigated with proper preparation. If your looking forward to the test then you are probably ready.

Your mind frame is important.

I thought they got rid of the 3 LSATs cap?

If that's the case, it won't hurt. But some schools may look at all your LSAT attempts.

Nothings impossible, but I would recommend you reschedule. You only have 3 shots at this over 2 years and you don't want to feel the pressure if you don't get your grade in Feb. Don't be stupid. If you do decide to do it and pull it off, maybe you could host your own webinar here.

So, what does it look like where you live?

I am in a similar situation as you and finally now have time to study for the LSAT. I suggest you take the September LSAT because you do not want to feel rushed for prep. Take your time and FP LG. This is probably the best way to go about things.

Develop meditation as a life skill. Practice mindfulness. Hire a tutor who can talk some confidence into you if you can't do it yourself. Develop a checklist approach for your LR and LG sections.

Could you elaborate on your checklist approach for LG? I'm curious as to what your list looks like. Would really appreciate it.

Maybe try going grain free for a month or go on a lchf diet like Ketogenic. My anxiety/depression is virtually zero after I go through the grain withdrawals. Diet often plays a bigger part in mood than people think. I suffered from social anxiety disorder and gad for years before changing some things. if you watch pornography stop that as well, it f***s up your brain. Check out www.yourbrainonporn.com for a ton of scientific research on the subject.

Gladiator

They guy who followed the real Commodus as Emperor, Pertinax, is one of my favorite historic figures. Wish they’d’ve written him in. Commodus left the empire completely bankrupt. In under a year, Pertinax completely restored the treasury, as well as the power and prestige of Rome more broadly. But nobody liked him because he ate salads and didn’t like to party. When the Praetorians came for him, he didn’t run, he reasoned with them. They killed him anyway, but the story is that they actually really thought about reconsidering. From there, the Empire was literally sold to the highest bidder, but everyone quickly agreed that that was treasonous and so they killed the new guy too. Way more interesting than restoring the Republic.

I better stop eating salads

I think that the threat of a.i. replacing lawyers will be largely determined by lawyers if we are proactive. A.I. is already being used in several courtrooms in the U.S. to help judges make decisions, however the a.i. is not autonomous. Autonomous a.i. is not nearly as far away as most of us think. The time is fast approaching where an a.i. lawyer will be able to do almost everything a human lawyer does in the legal realm, and faster. There are many tech firms working on this right now and yes it is scary. But we as lawyers will have to come together and make some very important decisions in the near future. I hardly feel the public will help us and we need to be proactive in this regard.

We need to protect our livelihood.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
