What do admissions committees prefer? For your PS and resume to be submitted in word format or as a PDF?
I know I am obsessing over small details at this point, but with my LSAT score I need everything else to be flawless!

Hey 7Sage Fam,
I have consistently been scoring around -3 on LR for tests 50-69. Recently I have started taking tests in the 70-80 range and all of a sudden my average has dropped to -6. Is this a general trend, or am I just losing my mind?? I feel like the LR has gotten more difficult and at this point it isnt an outlier, it is a trend. Is there any evidence pointing to LR on the more recent tests being more difficult?
GREY GREY GREY. Retake retake retake
I know for a fact I am not the only one with the LSAT perpetually on the mind. I probably am not the only one obsessively contemplating when Gray Day is coming. Any Guesses??
I am PRAYING it is not October 20th, considering that is my wife's birthday...
As a Utah resident, mormon and BYU alum... I have to ask. Are you mormon? Because that is a HUGE factor you need to consider if potentially going there. I am mormon and a returned missionary and I ran away from Provo as fast as humanly possible when I graduated because the culture there is so toxic and so hypocirsy ridden. If you would like some more info about BYU, Provo or Utah, feel free to DM me!!
For those that had LR-LG-LR—LR-RC, with the 26 question LR passage being thE very first one, think that the first ten were harder than normal??? #4 and #5 tripped me up and ruined my timing for the rest of the section.

They are not PDFs but you easily make one:

Alright thank you so much!!
Is there a PDF or print out with all of the valid argument types togther on one page? Am I just not looking hard enough? Thanks!
Is there any realistic chance they could come out before June 29th?? Any at all??
Okay so September scores came out today and congratulations to everyone who did well. I unfortunately am not one of those people. My diagnostic was a 150 and after 21 PT's and 4 months of studying my average of my last 5 tests was a 160. With my last 5 tests being 160, 161, 160, 156, 162. I scored a measly 153 on the S16 LSAT.... just three points above my diagnostic and 7 points below my average. To get into all
If the schools I want to go to (regional, reach and safeties) I NEED a 160. I got 3.5 hours of sleep the night before and test day nerves completely got to me. I knew I did horrible but got tripped up on stuff I usually do well on. Shockingly, I got every single virus game question right and only went -2 on Eileen Gray. I usually always, ALWAYS go -5 on LR. I got -10 on both sections. Even with my abysmal -14 on RC (usually go -8), I would still would have gotten a 159 if I scored how I normally do on LR. Here is my question.
I am already registered for December. Is it possible to see my 160 average be my actual score for the Dec LSAT?
At this point, I am honestly considering taking a gap year, taking the June 2017 LSAT, and applying September 1st of the next admissions cycle. Perhaps by that point I could see a 165? Maybe?
Or perhaps despite whatever average I may achieve, test day anxiety always gets to me and I will still score far below what I wanted. Any thoughts?
My softs are super strong. 5 years in the military, currently working st law firm. GPA is a solid 3.53.
So is it possible to see my 160 in December? Or do I wait for june and push my entire lives plans back another year?
Thank you beloved people!
what... in... the... fuh. What did JY just explain to me? I will take the -1, I am done here fam. How is somebody supposed to parse that out within 1:25?
How is this a weaken question?? If anything, we are identifying a flaw in the conclusion and adding to the conclusion to make it stronger. Should this not be a strengthen question??

I scored 8 points lower then my PT's on my first take and 2 points lower on my second take. I have never had test day anxiety until the LSAT, but it absolutely destroyed me.
Now this isn't the case with everyone. My best friends best score he ever did was on test day. My cousin was the same way too.

What is SJW?
I'll skip the Eileen Gray passage, lol.
SJW = Social Justice Warrior. Ya know... the purple haired basement dwelling types that feel the need enact swift and violent social justice on anyone who believes differently than they do, all in the name of tolerance and progress. Real peachy, fascist types.
And yes!! Skip Eileen Gray passage, preserve your sanity.
The movie was an interesting look into the career of one of America's most distinguished lawyers, but I think it could have been done without the partisan pandering to SJW's. The producers obviously knew their audience and gave them exactly what they wanted - validation of their liberal ideology and confirmation bias that conservatives are backwards, misogynist deplorables. I found the movie about as enjoyable as the September 2016 Eileen Gray reading comp passage.
I just feel it is important to point out that I ended my writing portion by stating, "It's Miller time." Canton Space 4 lyf bebe
Hey does anybody know what day the scores will be released with the new format?
I am finishing up my law school resume and wondering if it is entirely necessary to put how many hours per week that position was? I feel like it would be helpful for the reader, but it makes the Resume look cluttered and not as clean.
Additionally, Do I have to put the month of the year that I started the position? Or is the year sufficient? Due to formatting, I would have to completely redo my resume if I put the month of the year, but if it is necessary I am absolutely willing to do so. Thoughts?
Thank you 7Sage community! Oh how I wish I could have find you all before I paid $1000 for an in person prep course...
I emailed the 4 law schools last night and have already heard from 2 of them. Super easy, low stress, no worries.
Thank you guys!! It has all worked out alright!
Dude I had this exact same question. I was super apprehensive for my responses. Eventually I decided my strategy was to put similar schools that the law schools competes with, perhaps urging them to give me a quick response or give me some money.
I could be way off on this one, I dont know!
7Sage Community,
I never thought I would be posting a discussion again now that I got my desired LSAT score and have submitted all of my applications. But I have to say... I seriously miss all of you and your encouragement. I could not even bring myself to delete the app off of my phone even after I submitted my apps.
So I have already pressed submit on 15 law school apps and after going through them and reviewing them, I noticed that the current address was wrong on one of them. After going through all of them, I noticed I made the mistake on 4 apps. I am absolutely freaking out... I have been told that revisiting or resubmitting apps after you submitted them is a huge NO NO and that it can hurt your chances of getting accepted. The mistake was super minor, I put 726 E instead of 736 E.
Should I just email the law school and let them know? Should I not even bother because most of them send denials/admits over email? Will they use my permanent address? (that one is accurate)
I am completely freaking out, what should I do??
I say both - let me explain. ED apps usually have a really quick turnaround. I would choose the one you would most like to attend, apply ED and if you get in, great! If you do not, apply to the other school ED as well.
As far as between Berkeley or NU, Northwestern all the way. Berkeley might as well be Caracas, Venezuela right now in terms of free speech suppression and the political orientation of faculty and students. Northwestern (and University of Chicago for that matter) both have a far more balanced approached to academia and most professors try their best to keep their own political bias out of their presentation of the material. I know both schools have a rather robust Federalist Society as well. Of course, if you swing to the left, Berkeley might be just the safe space you desire.
That is my personal take - good luck!

First and foremost. Thank you for service and welcome back to 7Sage. Your softs, although they aren"t weak, aren't necessarily strong. Alot of applicants worked as paralegal . That being said, your greatest bet of increasing admission chances is to maximize your LSAT score. You made the right decision
Two years later and I am still overestimating my softs - when will I learn?? Good thing I back on the LSAT grind.
Hello 7Sagers,
Oh how I have not missed you all! (only because it means LSAT is dominating every aspect of my life) I finally made the plunge and went ahead and purchased the Ultimate Course. I am taking the LSAT July 23rd, and this is my story...
In June of 2016 I paid $1000 for an in-person LSAT course. It was decent. It gave me access to a teacher who was incredibly accessible and his core-cirriculum helped me increase my LSAT score significantly. However, during his classes he went off on irrelevant tangents and personal stories that had no relation to the LSAT - I felt it was a significant waste of time. Additionally, kids from a certain school (BYU - the absolute worst) felt that sucking up to the teacher would somehow help them on their LSAT? Its beyond me. They were also a significant distraction from the course.
Come September 2016, I was able to increase my diagnostic (150) to Averaging 161 on my PTs. After my getting my score back I was simply devastated.... I scored a 153. So I wept, cried, binged, and then decided to buck tf up and get ready for December. Come then, I was averaging 162 and I was beyond thrilled to score a 161!! Seriously, I collapsed and wept tears of joy.
To say I had a rough application cycle is a complete understatement. I have some strong softs. I am former military (Enlisted JAG), worked 2 years as a paralegal at a prominent law firm, multiple publications, blah, blah, blah. I irresponsibly thought my softs would be enough to have schools look past my well below median LSAT score and mediocre GPA (3.6). To make a long story short, I got waitlisted at 7 schools and didnt get off of a single WL. I got into Utah, OSU, UF, UNC with some really geneours scholly offers. But being the prestige whore I am, I was not entirely satisfied.
I ended up reluctantly depositing at OSU but internally was looking for a way out. To fill some time during the summer I picked up an internship with a Congressman and come August I found my way out - I was offered a position as a full-time congressional staffer. I took the job, I love it (seriously I do, it is just fulfilling and engaging work) and I thought I was happy. A year into the job... I realize that I am still a prestige whore and that I still lack the prestige I so desperately crave from a prestigious law school (think T25). So one year and 3 months removed from my last LSAT administration, I knew something had to change. If I wanted a different result I had to do something different. Back during Round 1 of LSAT prep I simply didnt have the money for a $1000 AND $700 7Sage. I, like many of you, tradegically found 7Sage too late. So I lurked on discussion boards and commented here and there and looked for validation of my many irresponsible choices.
Finally here I am. Behold, a prodigal son has returned. And although the thought of LSAT study is excruciating to my mind, body and soul, I know this is what needs to happen. July 23rd will be my final day of reckoning - and I could not be more excited to share this journey with you poor souls.

A high score like that shows that you are capable of scoring in the high 160's but it's not a trend yet. If you're scoring up there now, there's no reason why you can't score there consistently by September. Good Luck :)
So would you advise to push back my test to september, not july? I am unfortunately already registered for July.
what is your goal score?
To go to a school I would be happy attending I need a 163 to get into BC, Mason, W&L, or UGA.
A 165 could get me into a number of dream schools I would be THRILLED to attend - ND specifically. But to answer your question, a 163.

Once, it's a miracle. Twice, it's a coincidence. Three times, it's a pattern, so take a few more to find out if it's a fluke.
^^^bump. Best advice I have heard this cycle.

I just had the same thing happen. I jumped from a 163/164 average to a 169, but my score went back down after, at which point I realized that it was probably an aberration. But I agree with what people said, it's definitely not a fluke because it shows that you are capable of scoring that high, but I would focus primarily on a 3-5 test average. Good luck!
Thanks and you too! I have no doubt with time and hours, you will get back up to 169

You could have gotten better at the test, gotten lucky with guesses, had the test play to your strengths or simply had a good day. The only way to tell if the improvement is real is to take more. It is certainly a good sign though. Congratulations!
How fod the blind review go?
I think a combination of getting better at the test and lucky guesses. As with any taker, the real struggle is choosing between the 2 answer choices you narrow down to. In my LR section, I had circled 8 questions to BR and only ended up with -3 for the section. With the wrong guess, that -3 could have easily turned to -5. I think I am getting better at testing, but definitely need to improve more so there is not so much indecision. Thanks for your help!

Congrats on the 167!
As for it being a fluke..."fluke" might be the wrong word. Sometimes particular tests play more easily to our strengths. That could be what happened here...but that doesn't mean it reflects any less on your ability. So long as you're staying focused on gauging your LSAT journey by your average score rather than a single score, I'd say a celebratory ice cream sandwich is in proper order!
Its time for a klondike bar

Good morning 7Sage fam,
I am among the legion of sagers it seems that will be re-taking the test after June. I had been averaging a 162 and scored a 161 in June. After looking over the test, I for 3 LR wrong within the first 10 questions and they were EASY, gimme questions that I should have gotten. Perhaps it was nerves? I absolutely should have had a 163 for June.
I took my first PT after June this Saturday and I scored a 167. The highest I have ever scored in a PT is a 163. Is this a fluke? Or can it be considered a jump in ability and subsequent test score? Perhaps the only way to know for sure is to take another PT. I simply wanted to reach out to 7Sage fam to see if somebody had experienced something similar.
I scored exactly the same on this one as I did my last take on December 2016. Absolutely devastated
