@JacobBaska This is super helpful, thank you so much for sharing your perspective! I’ll make an effort to connect with professors before the semester ends and follow up after. It’s also reassuring to know that pairing an academic letter with one from my RA supervisor is totally fine too. This definitely makes the process feel a lot more manageable, so I appreciate it!

LOR questions

Hello! As I start to think about my application materials for the next cycle, I had a few questions about LORs.

  1. I know I need a letter of recommendation from a professor, but I am unfortunately not that close to any and don't really have time to build a relationship with one. Has anyone dealt with this situation, and if so, how did you go about getting a strong LOR from a professor?

  2. I am an RA and my supervisor has already written me a strong LOR speaking to my character and work ethic. Would it be a good idea to ask them for a LOR for law school, or would their letter carry less weight since their work isn't law-related?

Thank you so much in advance!

Hey everyone! I'm hoping to get some advice from those of you who have been through something similar.

I took the January LSAT and scored a 160, but my goal is to get as close to 175 as possible on the April exam. My practice scores have been pretty encouraging overall — my highest PT is a 167 with a blind review score of 175. My general study routine consists of one full PT and about 3–4 individual timed sections per week.

Here's where I'm running into trouble: I was consistently going -2 to -3 per LR section, which felt really solid, but recently my performance has dropped noticeably and I've been getting -5 or -6 per section. The timing of this regression lines up pretty clearly with the fact that I was sick and had to take about a two-week break from studying. Since coming back, I just haven't been able to get back to where I was, and it's starting to affect my confidence going into April.

Any advice, study plans, or resources you'd recommend to help me get back on track (and closer to a 175 on PTs) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

😖 Frustrated

Worried April LSAT Taker

Hi! I took the January LSAT and got a 160 but I am really aiming to get as close to a 175 as possible (even though that might not be the most realistic goal). I’m not able to take the June LSAT and I will be applying to law school next application cycle, so I am currently planning on taking the LSAT again in April. However, I am feeling worried that I will not be able to see the score increase that I want, and I don’t know if my study plan is the most effective.

Currently I study every day for about 2 hours Monday through Friday, and I do timed drills/sections and review all wrong answers, alternating LR and RC everyday. I also take a full test on Saturdays. But I don’t know how much this is helping.

I would love any insight on study plans and if you think my goal is possible! Thank you!
