Could anyone explain how an absolute comparative statement is still considered comparative? There was a comment that contrasted the statements "Tom is taller than Athena" (relative) and "Tom is tall" (absolute) to try to provide clarity, but I am confused as to how "Tom is tall" qualifies as a comparative statement.
