Hi hi,

I just got my October LSAT score back which was notably higher than the score I submitted previously. I submitted most of my applications last week. A majority of the schools are holding the files for this new score (since I told them I was awaiting it) but others have begun reviewing my file.

Should I email the schools that have already started reviewing to let them know to expect a new score? Or is that overkill. I don't want them to make a decision without this new score but also don't want to be bothersome. Any advice appreciated. :)

I have a topic that I think could be interesting for a 'perspective statement' or a prompt that asks how you will contribute to X law school. I went to a very untraditional elementary/middle school (progressive education, raising animals, no tests/grades/etc.). I believe it is in large part responsible for my outlook on education as a whole. Is this something that can make a good perspective statement, or are those statements mainly for those who have diverse backgrounds in the traditional sense of the word?

I would love to write about this, but am wary of trying to insert myself into a prompt/conversation that is not meant for someone like myself. Thanks :)

I am noticing a lot of the schools have ~very~ similar personal statement prompts, but occasionally will mention specifically their school.

For instance Stanford's is "Please describe what aspects of your life experiences, interests, and character would help you make a distinctive contribution to Stanford Law School"

versus other schools just saying "Please describe what aspects of your life or experiences have led you to apply to law school, or will allow you to make a contribution to law school."

For the schools like Stanford that mention specifically their community, is that also functioning as a "Why Stanford?" prompt, or is it basically the same thing as the other questions just written differently?

I am essentially asking are they expecting I specifically tailor it to their school, or can I just like add "Stanford" somewhere in there and call it a day?

Hi! I am probably not alone when I say I don't exactly know what field of law I want to practice yet. I have a ton of different interests--and am certain law is for me--but I don't have a singular path I can point to in my personal statement to say, "This is without a doubt where I see myself." Is that a bad thing when writing my personal statement? How acceptable is it to admit you aren't entirely sure which direction your legal education will take you (so long as it's clear that it will take you somewhere in the law space).
