@KevinLin I did get this question right but I had to diagram it, which takes quite a bit of time. You mentioned that we do not have to diagram it - when you say it, do you mean we still diagram it in our heads or is the ultimate goal to develop an intuitive feel for conditional relationships? I feel like before I learned logic rules, I did have that intuition, but now I tend to impose arrows / conditionals on all statements, which takes up a lot of effort and working memory, therefore making me slow or forcing me to diagram.

@KevinLin thank you for the explanation - I am definitely starting to feel some improvement even one week after I wrote this comment.

do you think reading outside articles is helpful at all? science passages seem to be the most challenging for comprehension in such a limited time. so I wonder if exposing myself more to science passages outside of LSAT is helpful at all OR if just doing a lot of LSAT science passages is a better use of my time given the amount of practice material we have?

@KevinLin do you guys change drills for different users? I am seeing comments from a few days ago that say they had 15 questions while I had 13.

If you do adjust drills, what is this adjustment based on?

@KevinLin Do you mind elaborating on how taking as long as we need is the path to improvement? If I take 10 mins to read a passage, write out low-res summaries, etc., I definitely understand it and questions are super easy. The difficulty comes from having to do it all so quickly. So how, in your view, taking it slow will bring the improvement in this case?

I understand how not rushing in LR makes sense since the issue there often is just not understanding the question / how to answer it. But here questions are not too hard once the passage makes sense, and the way to make the passage make sense is to take more time, which we do not have.

@bbcream I got confused on this one too but what helped me is this:

  • mixing plant material --> know how to cast the charm: basically, mixing plant material GUARANTEES that you know how to cast the charm

  • if we were to flip it the way you said: know how to cast the charm --> mixing plant material, we are basically saying that if you know how to cast the charm, you are definitely going to mix plant material, which is not true. you can know how to cast the charm and not mix anything

or as chatgpt told me:

Imagine this scenario:

  • You studied magic.

  • You learned the Herbivicus Charm.

  • You know how to cast it.

Does that mean you are automatically mixing plant material into soil right now?

Of course not.

Knowing how to do something ≠ doing it.
