Did anyone else get every question right in this entire module and then get more wrong on the drill of 2 passages than they ever have in a complete RC section?? rip
First off hell yeah to anyone that knocked this drill out of the park. For me I feel the lead up to this drill was throwing me in football pads and sending me out to pee-wee football. Feeling like prime Gronk out here getting everything right. Then the drill happens im hyped, they then put me against prime Ray Lewis and he proceeds to absolutely kill me at every throw or run I do for four straight quarters no breather. I mean completely sidelining me and I think maybe CTE is a result. Maybe I was overly confident but even reading the passages I got feels they were much harder than anything we read thus far. Killed my mentality on how I thought I was retaining these RC's.

Back to being bad at RC. I learned that if i take 15-20 minutes to read a passage I will understand the passage. This section sucked
@Kevin_Lin Do you mind elaborating on how taking as long as we need is the path to improvement? If I take 10 mins to read a passage, write out low-res summaries, etc., I definitely understand it and questions are super easy. The difficulty comes from having to do it all so quickly. So how, in your view, taking it slow will bring the improvement in this case?
I understand how not rushing in LR makes sense since the issue there often is just not understanding the question / how to answer it. But here questions are not too hard once the passage makes sense, and the way to make the passage make sense is to take more time, which we do not have.
@JuliaS. Going slow on the passage helps you get used to patterns in the way RC passages are written and in what you're asked about. It also helps you get used to breaking down tough sentences. This is what allows you to cut down your passage read time over time in a way that still captures everything important in the passage.
Reading a passage and writing out notes might take 10 minutes now, but as you get better, you won't need to write as much (or at all), and you'll also read more quickly, because you'll recognize common structures in the passage. You'll also understand which parts of the passage are details that you don't need to pick up fully on a first read and which parts of the passage are things you absolutely need to pick up and re-read if you don't get it. That will also help reduce time.

do you think reading outside articles is helpful at all? science passages seem to be the most challenging for comprehension in such a limited time. so I wonder if exposing myself more to science passages outside of LSAT is helpful at all OR if just doing a lot of LSAT science passages is a better use of my time given the amount of practice material we have?
@JuliaS. It doesn't hurt to do some outside reading -- I just wouldn't use that to substitute for LSAT RC practice. But if you have 20-30 minutes to read each day, there some great online magazines with LSAT-like reading. Quanta Magazine. Aeon Magazine. Nautilus Magazine.
@Bigsby If you are early on to your studying the exact time is not of the most importance. Focus on your understanding and the speed will come with more practice!
I am very grateful to 7Sage!! I used to struggle with RC. I just started studying RC with 7Sage today, and I got 15/15 on the practice!! I used Blueprint for several months, but it didn't help. 7 sage did more for me in 5 hours than Blueprint did in 3 months :)
got 7/13 correct on the drill but all the one-off You Try questions were correct, what gives? Are the You Try questions just all meant to be easier than the drills or am I just panicking because of the clock?
I have been experiencing the same thing, and my conclusion is that in the modules, the passages are broken down for us so we get a clearer and more direct understanding of the passage, which makes answering the questions easier. Also, I noticed that during the modules, when the passages are broken down for us, it also provides the answers to many of the questions, such as the main point when we do a low-res.
Lowkey, writing those low res summaries down and mentally restating each line in my own words helped me so much in remembering when it came to questions.
If anyone else is feeling discouraged- i got a 5/13 on my first solo RC drill. Ill come back once i learn more but its okay to start off rocky! We can do this!

@unknown You should start by taking as long as you need to fully understand the passage. That's the path to improvement.

I was the same, I think that just shows our problem is just reading the passages, rather than application into the questions.

so what i've learned today and something i've already known is that i suck at science. good thing i didn't pursue a medical career path
Here's what helped me:
HIGHLIGHTING KEY:
Yellow - Intro/First POV (ex. economists)
Pink - alternate voice/pov (ex. critics)
Orange - Author's tone or POV (ex. this is wrong)
Underline - Author's stance when applicable...AKA CONCLUSION (ex. that pov is misguided)
I do not highlight the entire sentence!!! Just the key words or phrases.
I highlight referentials in the color that it pertains to
If at any point in the passage 1 side addresses the other specifically (ex. by adapting X's pov) I highlight it in the color of that pov.
@16dnholli They're changing the highlighting tools tho. Its hard to use this strategy now with the new tools.

@Bmariachi01 I got 8/14 but I have at least 15-30 seconds remaining on 11 questions. That's time I could've spent locking in the correct answer!!
