Lmao, I'm glad there's a lot of comments agreeing with me about how fucked up this experiment sounds.
I think why I was hesistant to eliminate B was the consideration that wealth could be a contributing factor to cancer rates as in preventing people from dying of something else beforehand. In a more developed country, you'd have more access to antibiotics and higher life expectancy, and less likely to die of lower level concerns like infections and diseases. There is no cure for cancer so better medical resources and increased probability of mutation over longer life span lead to higher cancer rates. I thought this made more sense than D to be honest because I can't think of any logical correlation between environmental pollution and high-fat diets.
