Hello!
I'm someone looking to take the LSAT in the September or October Administration and am aiming for a 175+ LSAT score. I'm trying to dedicate a few hours everyday to preparing for the LSAT but am not used to studying outside of an academic setting or without friends to motivate each other. I live in the Greater Milwaukee Area in Wisconsin and am comfortable meeting up occasionally to study in-person, but realistically am looking for friends to motivate each other and/or study with over something like Discord. My time zone is CST but please feel free to reach out from wherever as my availability is flexible!

@joycetheok Unsure if this is still a topic of concern but I'm leaving this below in case it can be of help to you or anyone else who had a similar approach to this question.
I think you determine that 'them' refers to 'personal attacks' by using the 'but' in the middle of the sentence. 'Personal attacks' is established as the focus of the sentence before the comma and then you are provided two different opinions on the them (the editorialists and voters).
A similar example would be: My dad made milk tea, I like milk tea but my brother does not.
The 'but' is essentially introducing an opposing perspective on the established topic.
