@ Almost everyone you will find in law school, whether it is a T-5 or T-70, will be over achievers who have always performed at a very high level. Many of them will be people who got into top-ranked law schools but chose to go lower because of the scholarship money. Everyone wants to be in the top 5 percentile of the class but only 5% of the people can do so. In other words, you will be no different than your peers and assuming you will be at the top of your class a priori is dangerous. Just food for thought!

Don't think about that. Whatever section it is, you are going to crush the test. That is the mentality and don't waste energy thinking about these types of things. Take a look at Conor McGregor's interviews where he explains his strategy before a fight for further reference.

Actually, not even awkward. They asked me what I was doing, I would say studying for the LSAT, and they would say cool! After a while they even asked me about my improvements about how the law school apps are going, etc. Overall very supportive. A manager or co-worker shouldn't expect to have employees that want to stay in that position for the rest of their lives. Actually, I would think that is a bad thing! If I were a manager, I would value more the type of people who strive for bigger and better things.

A bit - but I didn't care much and at the end all the managers and co-workers were rooting for me. So long as I did my job well and was a responsible professional I could do whatever I wanted after hours in the office. At least that's what I thought.

What about your office late at night? That's what I used!

I totally understand where you are coming from. It may be natural, but when you become a lawyer you are going to start writing differently. Might as well start practicing with your personal statement! I encourage you to read the advice from Berkeley Law school admission committee. Cheers!

hey @ thanks for your post! I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I don't think you should put the term "civil twilight" in your personal statement. While your initial paragraph does show that you read a lot of literature, we are not applying to Lit or Journalism school. We are applying to law school; and clear & concise is favored over wordiness. I'd also advise you to get to your point quicker instead of describing the situation like the beginning of a novel. I'm actually guilty of this. When I came to the U.S., I would try to channel the spirit of Garcia Marquez with my writing all the time. Then I realized that was a very bad idea. Anyways, I'm not an expert but hopefully you find my opinion helpful! Best of luck with your application process :)

You can cancel up to 12am of the night before of the test without wasting an attempt to the best of my knowledge. But don't quote me on that.

@-1 what's up! Yeah, I'm from Barranquilla and came to the U.S. for college. Don't really know if we are URMs technically to be honest, but the diversity and your story definitely help! I wouldn't think about it too much man, just put your best foot forward on your application, write a compelling story that only YOU can write, and you will be successful. Hope that helps :)

Hello @ ! Thank you for the question and so sorry you had to go through that. So far, all schools I've applied to have asked me if my undergraduate schooling had been interrupted at some time so definitely do prepare to write a small paragraph on that! I don't think that you have to go into the raw specifics of your eating disorder but I would say it was some sort of eating disorder that you had to take care off. You can also say how you came of that situation a lot stronger, etc. Hope that helps!

Yeah, job recruiters look at the top schools because that is typically where the smartest and highest quality applicants go to. Obviously this is not a hard rule. I'm sure some really smart people do go to Regents law school; but many not-so-smart people go there too. Their LSAT median is 152 and their GPA median is 3.36. Getting into a school like UVA or Georgetown is REALLY hard so recruiters for the best jobs already know that graduates from those schools had to be really smart/qualified to even get accepted to those schools in the first place. It's a self selection kind of thing. Anyways, @ is pretty on point with her comment. Aim as high as you can, work for it, and you will be successful. Best of luck with your LSAT studies. You are definitely in the right place/community if you want to maximize your score.

+1 to what @ said! My second take was actually 4 points lower than my first, but I stayed resilient and took it a third time when I felt ready. Now I've been accepted to a few top 10 schools ;). It is possible!
