Change test date or withdraw?

I registered for June LSAT (Jun.23) in Asia and it's the last day (May 29) to change my test date today.

I am not prepared at this moment but I still want to give it a shot if I work out something 20 days later..so I haven't change my test date yet.

Is that any other disadvantages except losing money if I withdraw after today? I wonder if there will be a note of "absent" in my track and I lose one chance to take the exam within 2 yrs (Because of the policy of taking no more than 3 exams within 2 yrs)

Thanks!

I think here in the conclusion 'Dealership rather than National Rental is more worthwhile for Local than for Tourists', the extent of WORTHWHILE is measure by the difference of money spent on dealership and national rental. For example, if it cost the tourists 50 to use dealership and 70 to use national rental, while it costs locals 30 to use dealership and 80 to use national rental, we say it is more worthwhile for locals than tourists because for the tourists the difference is only 20 but for the locals the difference is 50.

Therefore, for answer choice B, if the tourists spend extra money on taxi rides, that is new information hinting the difference should be somewhat narrowed. Therefore strengthen the conclusion.

It didn't come up to me the assumption that the national rental is near the airport..so I reread the conclusion and figure it out in the way above.

Hi, everyone, for question #12, why the cultural conservatism is EXEMPLIFIED by uncritical attitude ? Because the two concepts lie in two pragraphs, and I don't see a connection/relation being explicitly specify, so why does the former is exemplified the latter?

Can anyone explain this?

''The notion of jurisprudence as a system of norms or principles deemphasizes history in favor of the coherence of a system.''

what does this sentence mean?

is history in favor of the coherence of a system or is the notion in favor of that?

many thanks!

Hi Jon, I saw ur response here:

http://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/683/answering-a-question-problem

Just want to ask that by 'have to answer questions quickly' do you mean most of the time there's no need to refer to the passage?

Thanks!

Thank you all!

I am better today (though I always feel I am better everyday during the past two months! lol)

Yep LSAT is my boyfriend now, and I've been dating 'him' for a long time!

I have a little tip for anyone who has the similar experience as I: Simply do things faster~ ! The depression brought by loss of love is that it deprives one's vitality gradually, and doing things FASTER really helps me regain the vitality.

It's tough but i think I can handle that, at least I won't die.... XD

In all, LSAT comes first!

Break-up during LSAT

Once I saw JY says if you are preparing LSAT, then you are single, or you will be soon.

And I just laughed at the joke..and it did happen..

I am OK for most time of the day but would be really upset for like 1-2 hours per day...

Just wondering how many of you have a similar experience? How do you guys pull through that?

Any comment will be helpful. Thanks!

I don't understand here is that I think if to negate C.' When signaling each other with sounds or gestures, animals refers to neither concrete objects nor abstract ideas' that means when animals signal with sounds or gestrues, they refer to EITHER CB or AI. Does it contradict with ' it does not prove that animals possess the ability to use sounds or gestures to refer to CB or AI' ?

I mean, it seems to me that if it use sounds or gestures to refer to CB or AI, they have the ability to use sounds or gestures to ferfer to CB or AI?

Is it because 'it does not prove that animals possess the ability to use sounds or gestures to refer to CB or AI' is a premise of the argument, and we should never attack the premise, and should always attack the loopholes between premise and conclusion, so C is not right?

What do you guys think? Thanks!

@

given A I don't see the conclusion is justified..because the argument doesn't state that if sth is irrelevent to accuracy, it is not advised to affect that thing..

(But it seems a psudo-sufficient one...)

Does it mean if I am attacking question asking the principle underlying the argument, I can see it as asking a psyudo-sufficient assumption?

Many thanks!

If so, I understand now.

Because only M agrees with K, so it would be acceptable only that K at least votes for M or K votes for nobody. Therefore B is right.

Thanks, @.

Thank you @.

Reading this(At this point we should be wary of confidence of witnesses, or at least of the factors that affect their confidence.), I wonder if the question 'Which one of the following is a principle underlying the advice given to police officers? ' can be interpreted into ' What is the necessary assumption underlying the advice' ?

Hi guys, sorry about the title..I did the question several days ago..so I forget it comes from which PT..As soon as I find out i will change the discussion title.

Studies of the reliability of eyewitness identifications show little correlation between the accuracy of a witness's account and the confidence the witness has in the account. Certain factors can increase or undermine a witness's confidence without altering the accuracy of the identification. Therefore, police officers are advised to disallow suspect lineups in which witnesses can hear one another identifying suspects.

Which one of the following is a principle underlying the advice given to police officers?

(A) The confidence people have in what they remember having seen is affected by their awareness of what other people claim to have seen.

(B) Unless an eyewitness is confronted with more than one suspect at a time, the accuracy of his or her statements cannot be trusted.

(C) If several eyewitnesses all identify the same suspect in a lineup, it is more likely that the suspect committed the crime than if only one eyewitness identifies the suspect.

(D) Police officers are more interested in the confidene witnesses have when testifying than in the accuracy of that testimony.

(E) The accuracy of an eyewitness account is doubtful if the eyewitness contradicts what other eyewitnesses claim to have seen.

Whenever she considers voting in an election to select one candidate for a position and there is at least one issue important to her, Kay uses the following principle in choosing which course of action to take: it is acceptable for me to vote for a candidate whose opinions differ from mine on at least one issue important to me whenever I disagree with each of the other candidates on even more such issues; it is otherwise unacceptable to vote for that candidate. In the upcoming mayoral election, the three candidates are Legrand, Medina, and Norton. There is only one issue important to Kay, and only Medina shares her opinion on that issue.

According to the principle stated in the passage, in the upcoming mayoral election

(A) it is acceptable for Kay to vote for either Medina or Legrand, but it is unacceptable for her to vote for Norton

(B) the only unacceptable courses of action are for Kay to vote for Norton and for her to vote for Legrand

(C) it is unacceptable for Kay to vote for any of the candidates

(D) the only unacceptable course of action is for Kay to vote for Medina

(E) it is acceptable for Kay to vote for any of the candidates

Does the 'and only Medina shares her opinion on that issue' means Medina agree with Kay?

Finding a study partner on skype

Hi guys I am a LSAT retaker. I scored 162 in the Sept LSAT. As the score is way lower then my PTs (around 172), and after asking several high scorers (over 175) they strongly suggested me to find a study partner, because having a partner will urge one to compete and avoid cutting-corners while reviewing LSAT.

As I current located in a place hard to find a LSAT buddy, I am writing this discussion to see if any one want to be my partner and discuss once per 3 day on skype (about 1 hr per time ) to go through the PTs each period.

Thanks!

PT 28, S4, Q15

It's an article about 2 schools of economics. I don't understand Q15 which answer is A. I chose B.

A. The environment's ability to yield raw material is limited.

B.Natural resources are an external constraint on economics.

Isn't that A can be interpreted as that natural resources is limited, and that's what Line 20-22 says (steady-state economists' view) and Line 30-35 saying "that natural resources, if depleted, can be replaced by'' shows that the neoclassical economists also believed that natural resources is LIMITED (although it could be replaced by other resources)?

And I don't see why B is wrong. Although the passage doesn't explicitly say that the steady-state economics hold this conception (or hold the conceptions like external/internal constraints.)

Can anyone explain this?

Many thanks!

Hi, JY, I am not able to watch any video from 7Sage since May 4, it always says "html5: Video file not found".. can you help me with this? thanks!

I changed the settings and it works! Below is JY's Tips from http://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/340/html5-video-file-not-found

On the top right of the menu, you'll see your name.

Mouse over your name and a drop down menu will appear.

Click "Settings" from the drop down menu.

Check the box that says "Use Flash Player (prevents html5 video errors)".

This works with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Note: using flash player will disable different video playback speeds.

I find that the main point question is rather hard to find out which is the MP...I chose B because I thought that 'But this view ignores....' is the MP.

After viewing this video I know it is not. But still hard for me to recognize the MP (for hard questions in LR and RC), though most are not that hard.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
