Here's what I suggest you think about:

(1) Why law? Or, what kind of law schools do you need to get in to achieve whatever you envisioned? And will your score get you somewhere that fulfills such wishes? If so, apply now.

(2) If not, what scores would allow you to get into those schools, and how long do you need to achieve that? Depending on your answers, you might want to take the Nov. test or apply next circle if you can afford to. Or... I hesitate to say this, but it doesn't necessarily hurt if you decide to pursue your dreams in a way that doesn't involve law school.

In fact, I was in your position a year ago. I totally panicked on RC AND the 2nd LG which turned out to be real, didn't cancel cos "maybe it's not that bad" and ended up with 1 point more than my June test. For me, I know for sure it won't get me into any school I need to get into or get me the money I need, and I was lucky to be able to apply next circle (I also realize I have to take some time off to give my fullest.) Now I just got a score beyond my wildest imagination a year ago. Remember of course N=1, but I hope it helps to make the right decision.

Yes you can. You simply need one qualified ID. It’s not like they will check your tax return or something. I’ve used my foreign passport for all LSAT tests I took.

However, I’d suggest making a plan to adjust to jetlag, to the local food and to bring your own pencil/snacks if you already get used to them. Good luck!

This is a redundant post, but my family are starting to get annoyed of my "I'm so anxious whyyyy" statements so I should probably give them a break.

Why am I so anxious it makes no sense!!! Like I should be working on my personal statement but I simply can't concentrate with this uneasiness. I didn't experience anything like that even right before the test and now even meditation doesn't help and nothing seems to have meaning until that score is out... Help ?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they lost traction and intensity that you had leading up to the September exam, spent all your energy on the week of the test, gave your best on test day, and now the drive + motivation is somewhat defused? I can't seem to pick up my pace again (and it's been almost 3 weeks already).

If anyone is going through the same phase, please let me know you're out there! Feels like I just went through an intense break-up and in dire need of SOME closure (aka September score).

*pulls hair

I‘m so with you. I decided to take a break after the Sep test and realized shortly after that I just don’t want the break to end... any thought and effort on the application reminds me of the score release that is to come and with it anxiety and even more anxiety!

If you know that your LSAT score doesn't reflect your full ability and are able to retake, never hesitate to do so! I just took my third LSAT this September and now consider it a great decision -- regardless of the score I'm in a better shape to apply for schools without regrets and concerns dragging me behind.

Also, turn on that Candidate Referral Service on LSAC to receive fee waivers and save $$$! Though I hope it's just me who find it out belatedly haha.

Hi Allison and JY,

I just want to thank you again for the wonderful webinar! You two are great and it's good to know people like you are out there!

Thanks a lot for the webinar! I'd love to see a blog post on international applicants and issues specific to their application (especially those who don't go to an undergrad in US) -- for example, I had friends having trouble submitting the transcript and heard rumors about certain schools being harsh on international applicants or raising LSAT standard for intl students to their 75 percentile.

Oh my gosh! I feel like such a weirdo after reading these comments. On average, I go through about 12-13 pencils per test. I sit down with at least 16, and I only have a few on my unused pile by the end. I grab a sharp pencil at the beginning of each new game and each new RC passage, and I probably grab a new pencil roughly every 5-6 LR questions. I'm all about reducing friction while I write.

You are so not alone and thanks for making me feel less like a weirdo hahaha! Okay because getting obsessed with such details helped me relax, I actually had 8-10 HB pencils sharpened to the extreme for note-taking and 2 No. 2 pencils from a different brand (I know...) that were blunt and oh so good for bubbling. Cos my HB pencils were of assorted color I actually grouped them and used only one specific color for one specific kind of session haha. I know this is stepping deep into the weirdo realm but it makes me happy to do it. Ended up using 1-2 HB pencils for each session and 3 for my LG (cos Sep LG was so stressful:(

When I visited Columbia the 2L student leading the trip talked about how Columbia offered great housing really close to the law school (5-10 min walk) with a reasonable price. How reasonable I don’t know.

Hello the amazing 7sage community,

I'm wondering if someone would like to have a look at my LSAT addendum explaining a score increase (more precisely, why I performed bad last time). It's only one paragraph/120 words but you might need to bear with all of my questions and concerns.

I'm more than willing to have a look at your essay in exchange for your kindness (maybe anything but a full PS draft for that paragraph lol, but if you also want to also look at my why school statement once I finish it ----).

Thanks in advance!

The LG games are all so time-consuming! I usually finish early -0 with at least 5 min to spare and I missed two on this one...

BTW the 5 musician 5 artists one for the last game is real. I totally forgot all other game settings, probably due to the stress this one game is causing me... a 5-question game which costs me 7 min to do 3 questions??? why?

@ Okay I haven't received any email that doesn't have an "unsubscribe" option, but if that's the case, definitely spam.

@oshun1 Good to know! I think it's mostly me but I got the wrong impression from browsing TLS forums, thinking it's a 173+/3.9+ thing. Yeah thank you again 7sage community!

LOL Duke Priority Track Invite in Gmail Spam

So I got bored this morning, checked my Gmail Spam and voila, there's like 10 fee waiver emails in there, automatically filtered cos "it's similar to emails that have been identified as spam before". The star, of course, is Duke's invitation for me to apply Priority Track. I have been longing to receive it and who know it's been in my spam while I waited anxiously?

For those who don't listen to such advice like old me, check your spam.

Food for thought:

  • How often do applicants spam fee waiver emails just cos they are so annoyed of getting loads of them from schools they haven't even heard of? I mean I can relate to the frustration but are they technically spams?
  • I actually received the email before my Sep. score is released which is quite a surprise... so a 170 qualifies for Priority Track now?

For me, it helped a lot to try finishing RC sessions in 30 minutes and lived with it as if they were real scores. The results were horrible and the process led to a lot of stress, but (1) I got to know what the worst scenario felt like and felt more composed and in control in later & in the actual test, (2) I was pressured to save time like never before and learned what kind of (time-wasting) mistakes I tended to make under extreme pressure.

FYI, I'm applying this year and actually asked for my rec letters and got them early February. Pretty sure I'm allowed to submit these for my application even though they are technically "last circle".

    Confirm action

    Are you sure?
