I've been scoring in the high 160s- low 170s range and thought it was really hard too. Especially the first LR section and the RC section. The other two LR sections were okay in my opinion. My Proproctor also kept crashing so I had to re log in 3 times during the exam and do the whole security scan again. Took an extra 2 hours and 3 mental breakdowns.

I actually thought about this kinda similarly but not at all how JY explained it.

I picked E the first time, but the second time i picked D because of the distinction that "even the most skillfull translation" isnt necessarity a "literary translation".

Translation, in general, could be written in text, or spoken orally. So we have two subsets of translation, literary and non-literary. The conclusion says the "most skillfull translation" this refers to a subset of translation, that could be either literary, non-literary, or both.

So what I thought is that somehow we need to show that our statement about the subset literary translations applies to the whole group of all translations.

Then the more obvious part was that we needed to show that if the compromise isnt reconciled entirely, then it is a flawed translation.

I'm not sure if this is the right way to think about it though given JY's explanation. #feedback

I fully agree with your point above.

Had the sentence said "and on request located a dry fracture zone" I would agree with JY's interpretation that this is merely a stated fact that highlights the dowsers abilities and does not give us any reason to believe that the geologists or hydrologists couldnt do the same.

BUT, the use of the word "even" in the sentence, "and on request even located a dry fracture zone" indicates that this is a surprising or impressive ability. So we COULD, infer that through the use of the word "even" the group we are comparing the dowsers to couldnt do so.

To build off his analogy above:

I am super accurate.

You are significantly more accurate.

You are even accurate when you arent paying attention.

This really does imply that I am not accurate when I'm not paying attention.

Regardless, I think an alternative explanation as to why E is right is the fact that they say the passage MOST supports which one of the inferences, and for D we have one word that supports it where as for E there is two sentences.
