Progressive, strategic studying > quantity of hours + PTs
From what I understand you should reach out to admissions so that they don't review your application based on the current score if you think it'll put you in a "reject pile" right away.
Law school numbers has a new feature where you can see time-based acceptances to schools (only for students registered though which seems a small % in light of the total number of applicants.)
Some recommenders want to see your resume and PS. Also providing information on content you want covered in the letter can be helpful (i.e. specific qualities like discipline or leadership experience.)
I NEVER thought I would get to the point of actually being interested in the test just for the sake of information but here I am. 🤡
There was a really interesting LR question on the November test about a bird that makes a high-pitched warning call... Does anyone remember what kind of bird it was?? I genuinely want to look it up!
Queer, 24, background working with kids and in social services, finally coming to terms with my reality of being in the child welfare system and all the shit that came with that + my interest in criminal justice and human rights = deciding the year I graduated to pursue law school. I'm feeling really low lately in the LSAT studies with FT work and health issues but believing I can use my skills and lived experience to help others reminds me I fucking owe it to myself to not give up and give my all. What about you @?
Similarly, I have a mental note of the conclusion in less words than actually stated. In terms of process from start to finish though here's what I do:
Question stem
Read stimulus
Reread, underline, or highlight conclusion depending on how long or convoluted the argument is lol
Based on question, do my best to identify the key info before going to ACs. Most often, its the assumption/flaw AND what the argument hinges upon. At least that's what helps me.
Eliminate ACs
Plug in what I think the AC is to the argument based on question type
Hope that is helpful. Open to discussion.
Love your prioritization of the learning > quick outcomes. It's a great reminder for me too. Believe in yourself and stay true to yourself only! Let's f-ing go!!
Ah, so just because this argument epitomizes really annoying circular reasoning and thus confuses me, doesn't mean the role of each sentence changes. The first sentence is clearly the conclusion because the other sentences are intended to support it. For me what helped is focusing solely on what the question is asking me to do. Ignore the bullshit lol.
I'm free if anyone else would like to discuss! I'm in PST. DM me!!
Have compassion for your anxiety! Instead of thinking of it as "getting in the way," frame it differently. It is trying to protect you and help you. Your thoughts aren't always in line with reality of course, so just kindly and gently remind that part of you (in however helps you best... i.e. through breathing exercises, hugging a pillow/stuffed animal/pet, etc.) that you have a job for the next few hours and then you are free to process that anxiety more if needed. Sometimes I've found that doing something totally random helps too. Doing burpees on the 10 minute break helps because I hate them and it shifts my focus to how much I hate them instead of how much I'm frustrated with LSAC, haha. Hope that helps!
This might be time to ask yourself some really tough questions. Have you studied hard enough to feel very confident that you will get a higher score/target score in 10 days? What schools are you wanting to attend? If your top choices are all reach schools and your LSAT is below the 25th, then it's probably better to wait. That being said how much work have you put into the rest of your application (i.e. essays)? Whatever you decide, aim to act in your long-term best interest.
No more poopy pants! This is a learning opportunity. Who's gonna carry the boat??
