Paper and Pencil Accommodation

Hey guys :) I am posting this because I have seen some conflicting information and it was stressing me out, so I wanted to share in case it helps anyone else.

This is directly from LSAC: "The shipment of testing materials will include a paper-based version of the LSAT, as well as a paper-based answer sheet which you will use to record your responses. You will not enter your answers on the computer, although the computer is used to set up the live remote-proctoring for the scheduled test session with ProctorU. You will be allowed to write/highlight/underline directly in the test booklet. You will receive instructions with your package regarding returning testing materials."

***Also, make sure the address on your LSAC account matches to where you are going to be taking the exam. I originally had it as my permanent address at home, but I am in college so I had to change it so that the materials were sent to the correct address. (I'm guessing most people were smarter than me and put the correct address, but figured if it helps one person its worth it to remind.

A- This is incorrect because it almost supports the executive's argument by saying that senior reporters at the newspaper make just as much as competitors, so there isn't shortfall in their salary. It definitely doesn't weaken the argument.

B- I definitely did not pick this out to be the correct choice at first, but now it makes a little sense. I thought about it like an internship. If I am at an unpaid internship, the only reason I am there, and the benefit I am getting is the experience and training, which will contribute to me potentially making more at future jobs. I am starting at the bottom, so that I can make my way up. That is what the executive is implying in their argument. However, AC B is saying that most people have worked there for more than 10 years getting paid the same salary that is below average. Therefore, they have not been compensated by training because they are still at the same job getting underpaid.

C- This is incorrect because it has nothing to do with employee salary or training. It it basically saying the newspaper itself is improving its profits, which might explain why the employees are getting underpaid, but doesn't weaken the argument.

D- This literally has nothing to do with the argument whatsoever.

E- Again, this is just more random information about the newspaper and doesn't even address the argument. If ANYTHING it would support the executive's argument because it could be used to say that the employees are getting good training because they are writing stories for multiple countries.

A- Incorrect because the premise says that "most people who have pets are less happy than most who do not," and this AC uses "some people." This option is too broad because if 8/10 people with pets are less happy than most who do not, that still leaves 2 people who could be more happy, which could be the "some people."

B- This is not relevant because it does not mention happiness whatsoever. Someone could want a pet for protection or many other reasons not related to happiness.

C- The conclusion is that if someone wants to be "as happy as possible," and most pet owner's being reasonably happy does not weaken this because they could still be less happy than people without pets.

D- This is the correct answer choice because it addresses the possibility that pets are not what is causing the unhappiness in people, or saying that just because there is a correlation does not mean there is causation. It is saying that pets actually make people happier, meaning they do not contribute negatively to their unhappiness.

E- This really says nothing because people with pets also could be unhappy at times, and it says nothing about what is causing their unhappiness.

August 2022 LSAT Study Buddies!

Hi guys! I am looking for some people to study with for the August 2022 LSAT! Hoping to make some sort of groupme or group chat, and maybe have zooms or something! I am a little behind on my study schedule, but I am hoping to really pick up the pace. My goal is mid 170s, and I am currently scoring around 169-171. Also, I am on EST!!

@.g.velez-1 You can apply for it when you apply for any other accommodation like extra time! I have ADHD and working on paper makes maintaining my focus significantly more manageable. So, I just had my psychiatrist attest to that in my accommodation request.

Yes, I believe it will be a scantron (unless you also have the accommodation to put your answers on the test). From what I understood, we will receive more information about the format, rules/regulations, and a tracking number for the shipment as we get closer to the test date. I wish they would tell us sooner lol.
