What are your thoughts on the order of the syllabus? Here is my thinking: For sure my biggest weakness is Logic Games. So, if i jumped out of order and covered the games earlier than listed on the syllabus, i could spend that much longer on the games concurrent to the other portions. If practice practice practice is the key to games, covering the basics early gives me that much more time to spend on them at lunch break, early in the morning, at any given possible moment. I know that there are key logic points to learn first but, i think i could probably get a benefit from starting earlier.

i dont recall that. My first section was the experimental LG section, and, according to the forums opinions, relatively easy. The second section had the much harder last game, and, i thought the third game was a little rough as well.
yep, the intention is there but, at night, i am Gumby. Then i amp up on coffee and do my best...its a struggle.
I am now taking PTS and my scores havent improved from my cold diagnostic. (Well, Logic Games has improved a little, but Reading Comprehension has gone down)... in fact, the scores are lower..
The thing is, when i do Blind Review, it goes incredibly fast, and I do very well, especially with Logical Reasoning. I clearly see what is the correct answer.
So, does anyone have this experience? is it test anxiety?
Ok, i understand why C is the correct answer. But, if i can be a little argumentative here: isnt the conclusion "Sugar doesnt make kids with ADD hyperactive"? and the premise is "Studys with control groups show no statistical difference"?
To weaken the argument, are we not putting a wedge between the support, by showing that sugar does cause hyperactivity. And that support is weakened by showing substitutes and sugar cause essentially the same behavior?
if i "like" a comment, is that solely for Karma or can i search for those likes to review later?
thanks~
Lesson 11 and 12 of Introduction to Logic.
i dont recall specifically if a point was made regarding ignoring contrapositives...and your question leads me to think you may be mixing up somethings.
the Contrapositive is the exact same thing as the positive version of the argument, that is, they are interchangeable and exactly the same. you just use whichever version is more convenient to use. (Convenient meaning that there are times when you would link strings of rules together and some may involve both positive and negative components of the same item, so you use whichever version that can easily fit in your string)
Example
A--->B means that if I have A, then i must have B.
The contrapositive of that is
/B-->/A meaning that if i dont have B, then i cannot have A
Both statements have the same meaning and value, they are just written differently.
Now, if i have that same argument
A--->B and the reality is that i have a B, that does not mean I have to have an A. The rule just becomes irrelevant and you can ignore it.
Additionally, if I dont have an A, well, i dont have to have a B, again, the rule becomes irrelevant and can be ignored.
Sorry folks, won't make it tonight, will be there next weekend
I have to say, I really do think this is valuable time spent
I know that the proctor in my center screwed up the timing... He/She called 5 minutes left at 25 minutes. All of us were so busy testing that we didnt say anything. When he/she called time, 60 people started complaining. He/she was adamant that his/her clock was correct and official. Finally he/she started the clock again and gave us 2 more minutes.
So, we got shorted by 3 minutes, and it was broken into 2 sessions.
Absolute BS...
I dont think it made a difference in the end for me, i dont feel like my performance was that great, and it was an experimental section for me.
I will also be there tonight.
is this so easy it hurts? especially since i missed (by running out of time)
I love the snakes and lizards one... i found that one very fun to do..
@.ruane-1-1, sorry youngster, but you wont win the Old-Off in this forum...
All, i have seen differing opinions on this, and i did try to search for previous discussion threads....
What is, in your opinion, the best way: reading the question stem first, or reading the LR stimulus..?
you shouldnt worry too much. you can still go back and BR those problems. You really want to BR on the practice tests!~~
Old timer here... took in June, not very pleased with score, will probably double down for December..
I'll beat them whippersnappers...
Im on my second round of the Ultimate package. I finished the first time, did some practice tests and didnt improve. I pushed the test back to June, am redoing the curriculum and drilling with Cambridge package...
I was there from 12:10 to 5:45, includes check in, prep, test and collecting everything.
All, when setting up your rules, does anyone advise to number those rules. Im not sure where i picked up the habit but I realized i was doing it.
Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea?
Second time around here... Started doing PTs, wasnt making any improvements. I stopped doing PTs, now am on my second time on the Ultimate Course, while drilling with Cambridge packets.
are we still on then? I see Emli1000 and Nicole Hopkins will not be there, but who administers the group?
I'll never forget the proctor with bad clock and "I'm always right" attitude. Oh, and the 60 or so pissed off future law students who knew they wer short-changed. I didn't notice anyone else, I was in the mode.
also, i have his book, Disrespecting the LSAT. its a fantastic read, hilarious but informative..
@
ive always wondered about this. how are your results from this approach?
I will be there..
thanks~
Doesnt answer A force us to assume that "conventional" means effective? i had a hard time with this one, and chose C just because the other answers seemed weaker.
Yes Jordan, i will take as many as you can dish out~~
thanks~!~
